It's how the forum works, don't act like you're special because you noticed it.

Havok is a PHYSICS engine. Not a shader engine. The havok engine in integrated into Blam's. Notice how it says Havok on the back of the halo 3 disk case also. The shader engine halo 3 uses is all blam.

Halo 3 uses much more complicated bump mapping. Most modern games use Normal maps AND specular maps which makes bump maps show more. As for sandtrap. There is most likely a alpha map that defines which part is bump mapped or not. Also you can tell if something is BSP or not because if you shoot the BSP it has bullet holes. But if you shoot something that is NON bsp then there will be no bullet holes.

Here's a detailed list of what's wrong. There's more, but I didn't have enough room to put them in. If you want me to make another picture, ask me. I'm a tough critic.

Thanks alot for posting the things that are wrong with the map guys, it always helps to have an extra pair of eyes for picking up on the mistakes. That said I'm throwing up a few more images please feel free to point out anything that looks wrong, like I said before there are minor things I've chosen to change for the sake of game play. If they don't work it will be reverted back.

Also the back base structure, I know looks really weird. I'm having trouble making it look right, it keeps turning out looking like a chode. haha

Now you gotta rough it up. Add some damage to the structures.

I think the map looks fine. Contrary to popular belief it does not need to be exact.

As far as the shapes I think it should be as close as possible, but I've stated before I myself am more concerned with gameplay so if something doesn't work in Halo 3, I don't want to bring it to Halo CE.

Also, good news!!!
I got the latest BSP file to the guys of H3MT and they have it in game (HCE not H2V). I know there was alot of concern because I was showing the builds I had in game (H2V), but you can all rest assure the map is coming along.

Corndog THAT LOOKS AWESOME! I think the towers may need to be taller (or thinner) though. I wasn't expecting to see this so soon thanks for putting it up! One more thing, my box modeled 1/2 Phantom needs to be upside down hahaha.

i think the ring should be bigger, in H3 it looks farther out than it looks there, but maybe it is just the angle.

Either invisible wall or scripts are my guess.

I cannot be positive how the HCE version will be, but for the H2V version it will be invisible walls. They will be much closer to the battlefield though to keep players from camping on the outer rim, and hopefully make the map playable for less than 16 players.

yea ill have to go play it tomorrow and edit them a bit to get them just right. and for that render i only scaled the ring to as far out as YakzSmelk had made the terrain, I'm pretty sure it supposed to go out further.

But I'll work on that tomorrow if possible. My dog died earlier tonight so I'm in no mood to work on anything.

Just make invisiblr holes in the ground that you fall through. That will work fine.

I'm sorry to hear that man, I lost my dog I had since I was a baby about two years ago. I know how you feel.

oh yea, i had to reposition the Bsp to 0,0,0 and not everything is attached, like the phantom and the albatross. so i just moved them down to the general area that they should be in.

its looks good other then obviously the phantom, the thickness and tallness of the towers, and also there is a way to big of a hill on the far side that doesnt look good at all
also there sould jsut be a barrior cause in h3 you can get around the death bombs as i call them
