Someone should make a detail map for the sand that actually looks like the halo3 one. maniac needs to come back so he can texture this sense it seems like he does all the texturing for everything.

Compatibility Sandtrap will be coming to HCE and H2V, right now the H3MT is in charge of populating and texturing the version for HCE. As for the H2V version, I will be working on it alone, this is my second map I've worked on and I'm trying to get as much experience as I can. The H2V right now will only feature Halo 2 weapons and vehicles, being that from what I hear making user-created content is next to impossible.

You should have a bunch of beta testers try it out, work out the bugs and such, than release a un fineshed version to the public to keep them happy and find bugs the beta testers havn't and then release the map. I could be a beta tester lol. Also in ur pic....the middle where it has like a bridge underneath is sand trail seperating the two bases....the bridge is like too close to sand almost as if u cant walk under teh bridge

D: everyone is always wanting to beta test... really, I think they just "want the map first." Of course, I would not mind being selected for beta testing for any map, but I won't be one to ask "OMG CNA I PLIZ BETA?"

everybody loves me so he has to let me beta test. The map looks really fun, I really want to play it and find out the bugs and glitches for him to fix. Cus it wouldn't be nice for the public to play a map where u run into a wall and fall hrough...any easter eggs?

You see, it's mostly the people who ask for the betas who don't get it. Also, it is also very annoying to the maker when people pester them with questions like 'can i betaz tat? i r gud at betaing!', and 'wens it fineshed?' Also, if you aren't well known, or you're new (Not saying you're a 'noob' or 'newb,' whichever floats your boat[expression]) you most likely won't get a beta. Sit back, get some popcorn (I don't care if you don't like it, get it) and wait for the show to start (or in this case the release). this map is so gonna own!!! hope it gos popular so we can have 8 vs 8 on sandtrap for halo CE. And this will be VERY intresting with a halo 3 map with halo 1 weapons and vehicles. But I quite like it as custom weapons just don't cut it

Also those are heat maps from H3 not H1, also a lot of people want elephants which might make a lot want to use it, it really depends on if anyone wants to model it and if Maniac wants to skin the elephant.

Beta Testers There's been alot of talk about who will be selected to be a Beta Tester for this map, and the truth is I haven't given it much thought. But here's some facts, H3MT has a group of testers, so if they want you for the HCE test sessions, they will let you know. As for the H2V I will most likely be basing the testers on whoever is on when I go to test it, I'm super-professional! But don't get to excited because of this post, the map is far from complete, although the modeling is nearing completion and textures will be on display soon enough, the Beta/Final project is still a few weeks/months off. Sorry to be a downer but I wanted to get the topic back on topic and get more feedback on things that you think are memorable about H3's Sandtrap. All of this information will be taken into consideration (things that you hate would also help!), I have already made some minor tweaks to the landscape that I think will speed up gameplay and also help for player foot traffic.
I will be setting up a new account soon for potential, want-to-be Beta Testers. That way anyone interested can just PM that account and I can keep track of you. Please don't PM this account asking to be a Beta Tester, I will automatically ignore you. Sorry but I don't want to fill up my inbox with request like that. And as always if you have any questions about modeling in 3DS Max or on creating your own textures, those questions are always welcome in my inbox.

Or you could beta test with us H3MT members that have H2V =) But Elephants move at 2 MPH and get almost no kills Its better to just make it an unmoving elephant with a turret on it so that you can defend the flag.

I heard the idea of a broken down elephant. When you guys say stationary do you mean a normal one just sitting there or a broken down one? It would seem to make more sense if it was visually broken because that would explain your inability to drive it. Edited by Face on Apr 9, 2008 at 03:04 PM
