CMT most likely won't give out their tags. Plus, H3MT is already tagging it.

I dont care. I dont wanna have a perfectly good, amazing map spoiled because of you Halo Custom Edition kids, I hate to say it but I think the game is dying. Maybe if it were 2 years ago, but my point is, is that we should use it on something more wortht while.


Where are you getting your information? People are still playing. What is the loss if it's made for Halo CE?

As long as Halo 2's editing kit is locked up there will always be mappers. Just because you want it to die doesn't mean it will, Mr. Owner of HaloCEMaps.net the Halo CE mapper's MySpace...

So what your saying is you want us to waste our hard earned money on crappy windows vista just to play halo2 because you don't like the fact that haloce exists?

I'm sorry but you are an egotistical, selfish, butt face.

I'll buy and play halo 2 when I'm dang ready and I don't appreciate the fact that you think you can barge into this thread and try and ruin all of us haloce players' chances at playing this great looking map.

I think you should just keep you little halo 2 loving mouth shut if your going to try and do things like that,

Ok, I don't want this become a flame war. There's no need to get upset about _kid_'s opinion, as long as you guys are willing to work with HCE, it won't become obsolete. As far as Halo 2 Vista, this will be a Halo 2 Vista map, and a HCE (even if I have to buy HCE again and bulid it myself for you guys). I don't think anyone should be penalized for not upgrading, the computer I'm typing this on right now is running XP!

the brute chopper is not going to be in the map andi f it would itd be useless cuz the only thing thats good about it is its one hit vehicle kill

and vehciles cant explode in haloce so they wont be in haloce at least

all original bungie made maps never had them
you cant even fly them in campaign so really they never were meant to be used

They can in some maps, and pelicans are only good for huge maps. They're horribly unbalanced.

i know about that mod and it doesn't sync well online

y do you think zteam doesnt use exploding vehicles?...because they dont sync sometimes and some of those mods can cause a dreaded exception ERRARRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!@&*^@#(*!@&#

FTFY. Guess what else? It still does not sync online very well. It means that if a vehicle blows up in a game and someone joins after that, they will still see an intact vehicle.
Also, damage levels are different.

I believe this may be related to why they crash. You have to be in a game not hosted by you, and with other players. Its not too common but it happens.

I wasn't criticizing you, I was criticizing Microsoft for their shoddy game development. Lol. Anyways, because it looks like that in H2V though, it should look just as good in HCE, and that'll be awesome. Are the tunnels going to be in the map?

STAY ON TOPIC! We've already gone off topic three times now with beta-testing, it only being halo2 vista map and pelican and exploding vehicles being in the map.

Well anyways this map looks so very nice! Is H3MT helping you I wonder? Well anyways I have threethings left to say: THAT'S PURE AWESOMENESS(if awesomeness is a word)

This looks great... I;m hoping it comes out for H2V and HCE. H2V might have working lifts and better graphics, but very sadly.. HALO 2 VISTA ONLY GETS 100 PEOPLE ONLINE compared to xbox live's 6000 people . So I or somebody else would have to host gatherings and hump days to join the map. (because custom maps on H2V ALMOST NEVER get more than 3 people). Though HCE has many more people, but won't run as well, but the HEK isn't locked, and there is no prank (guy mooning you) in the sapien error (MS you weren't funny!).
And what H3 vehicles can we expect in there?

Its kind of sad when Microsoft releases a HALO game and it does as poorly as H2 Vista. Maybe they will learn from their mistakes...

I haven't posted in awhile and I wanted to give everyone a reason. And that reason is that, I've been swamped with homework, between 2D Animation and 3D Visual Effects, I've had about no time to put towards this remake, only minor topology things, that are seriously so unexciting that you'd all fall asleep on your keyboards. Sparing you all the agony of reading about what edges have been fixed to create smoother (which alot of you commented on) terrain, I will tell you all that, your feedback has been heard and I've been doing alot of running around trying to make sure the map is 'bigger' but still works and feels like Sandtrap.

I'm sorry that it is going to be a little longer before you get a real update, bare with me. Thanks guys!

Scrambled Eggs
After reading a few of the above post about secret rooms and eggs... I figured I clear this up for all of you, the Easter Egg I'm working on is a Scarab lands on the map and kills everyone, it's intense! But in all seriousness I'm extremely concerned about gameplay and there will not be any 'secret' rooms, or easter eggs that will help diminish the playability of the map.

Tweaks
Minor changes have been made to the map for obvious reasons, those reasons being that; 1) This is a remake not a rip, all the geometry has been created from scratch. And 2) There are minor areas in Sandtrap I felt needed to be adjusted to make it easier to get around, I'll go through these areas when I finish, but I assure you it's nothing major and you all might be able to find areas in the screens I post.

Just a little eye candy for everyone that has been wondering and worrying about this map;






Note: These screens are taken from a still early build in which the map has yet to be Unwrapped

Might I just say they are looking neat, but are you able to make the ground more realistic, by that I mean have the sound in wavy bumps and flat areas and all not just sharp edges on the sand floor as if it is concrete.

Halo3 scarab isn't all that fascinating to look at, its pretty ugly and not well built as you can fall off and all and in halo3 you never admire it all you want to do is blow it up. Halo2 scarab on xbox people always wished they could drive and people like it because of the inner cockpit thing.

The map looks nice, although one thing. All those red lines going throughout the structures? Those are actually inset into the rock a bit. Right now its a little bit too flat.
