Believe me, i'm doing what i can... if i ignore some of your requests i'm truly sorry, it's just that i'm not a professional with this program yet so i'm not capable of doing certain things, if i were believe me, this map would be even better :-/

It's perfect!
Its funny how you say your not capable when you just did it!
and pretty quickly I might add!
Are you planning on a beta? and testing while your fixing the new sky?
If so I'd be happy to help. I think it's Important for a great looking map like this to get its fair share game play testing because you don't want the game to play out to be redundant or repetitive. Anyway very nice Everything looks fantastic!

well, it might be because he didn't run the radiosity down to zero

he just ran it to be able to see the bsp

Well it goes like this:

1.- Make changes to the terrain textures
2.- Fix some phantom bsp, i already fixed some of them
3.- Make changes to the bsp in general
4.- Make many flat rock models that are going to be scattered around the map, so the ground doesn't look all plain and boring (i won't add them yet)
5.- Make sky model (it's gonna take a while since it will be quite... complex) the concept will be explained as soon as i start modeling it
6.- Populate the map and add the rocks that i mentioned in #4
7.- Attempt to make the map's lighting with aether
8.- Add weapons. vehicles, game flags, etc
9.- Some scripting
10.- Testing
11.- Changes depending on testing
12.- Release :D

UPDATES (PLEASE READ)

* Added trees to the bsp (they are just planes like in timberland)
* Added horizontal energy beam to the bsp (the vertical will not be a continuous beam, it will be like the one from the map "infinity" but with HD textures and effects, i still have to create it tho)

Is it just me or does everything look a bit white and washed out? Kind of makes it look bland and depressing for some reason :/

Will you call it h3_Insertnamehere again? I don't think doing this will really increase the downloads. I suggest to call it [SPv3]_Insertnamehere. I would be more interesting.

Liking how the map is turning out. But i request that for your final release, you dont use that pistol. To me its badly animated (not in terms of smoothness, its very stylistic but not in a way i like it. My opinion, so sue me) and it works just as bad. Using Moses' Reach pistol would probably be better, even more so if you put in the reach model (i can give you that along with the textures, if you want em).

Also, when you get there, can i be part of the beta test? I was allowed in Core's but you guys kept on beta-testing with version changer so i couldn't actually join.

I really like the specular look on the metal textures. It's shinny, but not too shiny.

well about the floor... i don't understand why it looks like that, i extracted that floor texture directly from a halo 3 map so i don't know what happened, i will try and find the right cubemap and settings to make it look as it should

and yeah the transition from metal to glass is very noticeable and looks bad, i will add a metal "frame" around the glass and i might make it's own glass texture

about the cubemap... well... i'm starting to understand how cubemaps work in halo, i will try to make the cubemap but no promises of being successful :-|

change the ground metal texture to a darker dirt color might look cool or a darker metal that bright metal is to bright I think.

everything else looks good though! =)

P.S For the flying birds, just use the AI from Lumoria. They can be shot down and explode, and obviously, be an A.I and think for themselves instead of just scenery.

Otherwise, looking pretty nice! The only thing I can comment on currently is those filler trees, I see that your trying to make them more "3d" but personally I think that maybe a flat plane might do a bit more justice due to lighting. Or not. Just a suggestion.

AI does not sync online, but its ambient A.I, which is completely irrelevant. Your not fighting it, its background ambiance, therefore its fine.

i was a tester for his map core, he actually added the ai in the beta to see their behavior in an actual mp game


it turns out that only the host can see the ai properly, while the rest can have problems, like they dissapearing, too many of them spawning or staying idle, those were the problems the people i tested the map with had

besides, these scenery seems to already have a movement pattern so there's no need to set them up and there are no worries with the problems I listed above

Well about the AIs, i had those same problems "SlenderMan" pointed out while testing the map online, these birds i'm using aren't half bad, BUT, i prefer the birds from lumoria, so i would appreciate if you could tell me a way to avoid the AI problems listed in SlenderMan's post

About the trees, yeah haha, i didn't noticed until you told me, yeah i will fix that :-)
