whats this all about? my less-than-pro guess is that adjutant is not being allowed to access administrative files, ie C:/...Temp. try running as admin?

whats this all about? I had the same issue. Batch extract the entire folder, or do a search for a certain sound file and then extract the selection - for some reason, the program won't single-extract. You'll need to search the extracted directory for the file you want, but it's better than errors.

Works for me. Just right click on the folder itself (sound), and then select 'Extract'. That -should- just extract the entire set for you.

Like I said, batch extraction works for me - I just extracted all of the Spartan Laser sound files by searching for them, selecting the Sound folder, and Extraction the Sound folder for my search results. Re-download Adjutant and ToWav. If that doesn't work, I'll have a copy of Adjutant PMed to you when I'm available to.

I doubt it's Adjutant that's the issue.
If you've completely cleared your computer of Adjutant, re-installed it from fresh, force-updated it to the latest version, and checked that ToWav is in the same folder - and it STILL isn't working - then it's likely an issue with your computer.
For troubleshooting purposes, however:
- Check .NET Framework 4.0 or later is installed - Completely remove Adjutant and all related components/plugins - Re-download the program - Force-update to Version 3.1.0.0 (current) - Ensure towav.exe is placed within the directory that adjutant.exe is located - Try batch-extracting over single-extracting (I'm unable to single-extract myself)
If none of the above work, then there's something else wrong that I can't fathom.

Clear your temporary files using Disk Cleanup or something like that, and also check that folder and delete any tmp.xma, tmp.wav, temp_playback.xma and temp_playback.wav files.

The issue for me was that the specified folder doesn't even exist.
But, I found a workaround in batch-extraction and converting to listen manually.

The folder should always exist. It's not a hard-coded path, it always uses the temp folder set by Windows.

Almost 100% of the time, they are part of the BSP. Which as of right now, cannot be extracted. I asked above about the complexity of extracting the BSP from Halo 3/Halo 3 ODST and Halo Reach, but have yet to hear back from anyone about it.
Sorry for the bad news pitty, I want to make a short 3d animation clip and building them self isnt that hard, but why do ti your self if you could extraced what is not possible :( well thanks for the info :).

If you guys are on Windows 7 open My Computer then go to the address bar and type in %temp%. Once there delete everything that is not in a sub folder, that should solve your problems.

Okay, so when I try to extract certain music files from Halo 3 I get one of two error messages:
1. Error extracting sound\music\amb\perc\perc85\track1\loop.snd!: --Source array was not long enough. Check srcIndex and length, and the array's lower bounds.
2. Error extracting sound\music\amb\glue\d_glue_low\track1\out.snd!: --Number was less than the array's lower bound in the first dimension. Parameter name: dstIndex
The previews for these files don't work, and saving them by batch extract or manually doesn't work either. I'm using the 010_jungle.map but it also happens in other maps as well. The cutscene music doesn't seem to be extractable either. Other than that though, everything else works fine. Awesome job Gravemind!

Not all sounds are extractable yet, Gravemind is still working on it and the number of sounds that are not extractable is relatively small. If you want the sound track to help fill in the missing gaps, its up in iTunes and other places.

Do you think you'll be looking into bsp or jmad tags after?

I've been playing around with TDog's Halo 4 plugins and I get an error with certain models (Multiplayer Spartan, UNSC Infinity)

Is this error something with the plugin or something with my system?

Is this error something with the plugin or something with my system? I'd be interested to know how you got those plugins working at all - Adjutant doesn't support Halo 4, to my knowledge.

Installed TDog's plugins.
1. Open Adjutant: 2. -->New-->select a Halo Reach .map 3.--->Open--> select Halo 4 .map 4. You'll get an error, select "continue" 5.) ---> reload
After the reload, the map will open and you are able to extract some/most models and bitm textures.

Had to re-install Adjutant to even be able to access anything - and even so, it's taken some fiddling to get things working. Like I said - I'm able to export the bones for the Multiplayer Spartan models, just no actual mesh data. I'll keep trying and fiddling, but it may be out of my scope until Adjutant is patched for H4 assets (or we have the new program released).
