Yeah, okay. Putting aside the technical bits, though, like what my plan actually is in terms of campaign. For example, I don't think I will include skirmishers.

The people listed in HRCEMT are all I have for this project. All of my actual friends (actually prabably my entire school) are...not very good with computers, let alone game modding.

Oh look another, Halo X recreation in Custom Edition thread. Ok, instead of not giving advice on how to get this project finished. I'll give you some.

First of, you have to learn. It's alot like what I hope you kids should be doing in school instead of sleeping. If you truly wish to see your dream succeed you have to learn for yourself, trust me, the likelihood of getting people to help you is increased dramatically once you show you're willing to put in a bit of effort.

Secondly, get some work done before you announce some huge project. I know at first you'll be tempted to announce your new project because you'll be extremely excited about it. Being excited is good, it means you'll continue to have the motivation to work on it. Posting a project with no work however, is not a good idea generally.

Finally, and I cant stress this enough. Think before you truly go ahead with this project. Can you really hope to pull this off? Are you willing to put in the blood and sweat which is required to finish this? If not, then there's no shame in admitting that you can't. There have been hundreds of mods over the years that just grew dead, after the original 'founder' left it.

Regardless of what anyone says, no one will think the less of you if you decide that opting out now is a good idea, and that you cant/wont be able to do this without putting in some work yourself.

Oh and ignore the people saying "hurr you'll never do this". Granted, the likelihood of one person pulling it off is extremely slim, but as I said. Learn and think about what you're going to do, and how you're going to do it. Start small, with one map.

Well, I might make a mini single player level to let out my thoughts on what this campaign should be like. (It'll be my first single player level ever!!! :D)

What I mean is, illustrated in this map would be stuff like:
tags (weapons, bipeds, ai, etc.)
environments (desert, city, you know what I mean)
quality (im going to use all of my previous experience to make this map, make my first really good)

Now, in order for our Reach-style campaign to succeed, we are gonna need some really careful planning and a lot of creativity.

It doesn't seem we're quite ready to start the first campaign level, we need to coordinate this, who's doing what, when it's starting, how's the campaign level gonna work, what is the design of the BSP's gonna be like. What kind of tags have you collected Petera? If this is gonna happen in a year, we need to get started. (Not trying to rush everything here, just excited :D first time on mapping team after all :D)

Yeah, okay people. While I may not know much, I installed the relevant programs, looked into level design, studied Reach's many maps and collected many resources before announcing this.

In terms of what's happening first, it's all organised. I just haven't shared it yet. I'm concentrating on:

Long Night of Solace
ONI Swordbase
The Pillar of Autumn
Nightfal
New Alexandria

These are the levels I have the most collected/made for.

I suggest starting with Long Night of Solace. A simple beach, a small base of marines with a Stingray spaceship (available on this site), a space battle complete with Seraphs, Banshees, Phantoms, a UNSC Frigate, Covenant Cruisers, a Covenant Corvette and a Pelican, and then a short bit on the Covenant Corvette, utilising the Midship H2 map on this site and the Truth and Reconciliation CMT Campaign ship.

So, what d'you think? The only problem is, I don't know how to get the two sky boxes (cloudly blue and space) in the same level. Suggestions?

i think for a project as big as this to succeed it needs a leader who has a lot of experience, in fact it needs a leader with more experience than the followers the project needs to have. think of it this way if a woodman had an amazing idea for how to grow corn more efficiently and an actual farmer who is respected in his trade had the same idea, who do you think would get more support?

to be a leader have to know how to do more than talk the talk you got to walk the walk;)

Just add two skys into the top part where you add the skys.

You can define which sky is where depending on what cluster the player is in.

You have to edit it from guerilla/kornman in the scenario structure bsp.

Here's something I found by Bungie about Halo game design:

So with the cluster index, that would refer to different bsp's right, so you would change the index so that for one bsp, you would see a clear sky, and then when you enter the next bsp, you would see night, or whatever you wanted?

ok i just found this post and i have already made the halo reach dmr with moving cross hairs and am working on a biped they're are so many tutorials on halomaps.org to lern from that's where i lerned oh and as for 3ds trial running out i would sugest geting Gmax like here is a weapon tutorial

i have tried to use the print screen before and for some reason when i past it into paint all i get is a messed up picture of the loading screen when you first open halo? :P if you know the fix i will happily post my progress ok so i JUST figured out how to use camstudeo ingame and i think i can pull some screenshots out of that
