I've been exploring these forums, and wow. It's a wonder anything ever gets done. Does any thread last more then 5 posts without turning into a flame war or an argument?

It depends. If there's a group of ignorant people, they fight amongst each other what they think is right. If there's a mix of newbies, average and experienced, the experienced lecture the newbies. You just need to find a happy average.

Well so am I, for the time being.

-EDIT-

Not much to show you in terms of pics, seeing as I've already explained everything. In any case, don't let the topic die. Here's some vaguely related stuff:

Sceptre/wraith crossover (Revenant):

Random CE/Reach Case crossovers:

That was just random stuff to try and keep you interested. If that didn't work, I also have more custom music for the Halo 4 thing. For the meantime, just listen to this epicness:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEuP9iNMwq4
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Q78bm-YslA&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjZACyYKGJ8

Also, yes, I still need to upload the updated script. Please still send me voice acting auditions or I'll have to do it alone/cancel. Remember the deadline is June. I need to keep up SOME form of efficiency, seeing as I am obviously not a very good leader and have no co-leader. I'm considering either an experienced member or a long - time enthusiastic member. I have a couple of names, that is if a co-leader would be accepted.

Can't send an audio clip - my computer very recently went to hell (motherboard, processor and graphics card all got fried) :(

I'm actually using a library computer to send this >.>

Yeah, ikr. All of the pics above were actually from before I started the project, and the 'Revenant' was actually part of a H2V mod I made a couple of years ago, before Reach even existed. XD

I don't think the engine will allow you to get sprees from weapons, imo.

I don't think its possible, since the others are hard coded into the engine. However, if theres a script command that tracks the gun and the kills you get without dying, then maybe.

It's very hard, if not impossible, to track that stuff in a script because the numbers that reference players shuffle in a match.
And ahmedhalo, I don't think Jeff Steitzer is interested in halo stuff outside of bungie... and he could ask for more than $20!

In multiplayer, theres no chance. If you only have 2 players, it would be sorta ok. If a player is holding a spesific weapon, and the other person dies, continue on, etc. but then theres still the chance someone commited suicide, etc. And objects aswell as 2 AI would have to be attached to each player to identify who they are for when the object_list updates on death and spawn.

SP it would be alot easier, as you only need to track one player, and just don't put any friendlies in; then as long as the enemies aren't killing each other then your getting accurate results of what weapon your using when the enemies die (of course, you could still get a shotgun kill for using a grenade then)

Have you made one of these identifier-AI successfully? I've tried doing so twice (for identifying players on certain teams, or for who's who for armor perms) but never finished with all the tagging.

Haven't tried using them for team checks, but yes, it would work. Just have a red identifier object on it, who ever both AI see when looking at each other, treat as red. If you use a vehicle to attach to him, it will track the vehicles location, etc.

Respawning and resetting permutations though might be a problem, because when they die, the object will be on their corpse, and if more than one person is waiting to respawn at once, it wont be acurate to reapply the permutation to the newest player after respawn, as it could be any of them, or even a new player. I believe it would be better building an armor combo, having it stored, and then in the base, you can reload any sets that nobody else is using, which reattachs your tracking object, etc. Either way, its not worth it for the map maker or the players really lol.

If you want to talk more about it, add me on xfire, kirby422

Hmm, apparently Spartan 279 is still arrogant and doesn't want to be on the team. In this case, I think it fitting for him to be the first person to be kicked off unless I find reason to say otherwise. I really do apologise for the lack of progress updates and contribution so far on my part. I know I must seem like a total idiot to all of you. I just want to say, I'm sorry. But when I'm violently criticised, there comes a point when I become tired rather than annoyed.

Thank you all for your support, but due to the hostile environment I have decided to revert the projects to http://reachcustomedition.webs.com/ instead. I will still submit maps here, and be on the forums, and you are welcome to help me if you wish. Don't feel pressured to do so, I realise I have taken and given little back in return so far. Good day, have good lives and good luck in furure endeavours. Live long and prosper, all of you. I salute you and support you, and wish you well in any decisions you make outside of the internet.

I bid you farewell for the meantime.

I believe it is time to 'wipe the slate clean', if you will. I forgive you, but not myself. I blame none of you but myself. I really do appreciate the time and effort you have all contributed to this. I will not let it be in vain, or be disrupted by counterproductiveness.

This project thread will be discontinued on halomaps. It will still be continuing elsewhere, and I will still be on the site.

I'm so sorry I failed to meet your expectations, that I spent too long planning and depending on others. No more. I will continue on my own site, with my own rules. If that fails, I will continue alone. I threatened to do this over 20 pages ago, and guess what. I just did it.

Thank you all so much for what you've done for this project. And thank you Spartan 279, for motivating me to continue this project, despite of your intentions.
