Don't even think Bungie animated the fuel rod actually, or the flamethrower. Not sure though since they both look like they were and very possibly might, but they are PC-exclusive so I dunno.

Fuel Rod has the only different walking animation though and no overlays too...

Bungie used parts of the chaingun animation from pre-halo in the flamethrower. Flamethrower animations were done by bungie, and were in fact going to be in the xbox release but were cut at the last minute. This also explains the remnants of flamethrower flood in the set of actor_variants in some of their maps.
The fuel rod gun was not going to be in the original, but the plasma cannon (the halo 2 one) was in pre-halo.

The Spec Ops Grunts used 'em in the XBox version, didn't they? I remember it blew up in my face when I tried to pick it up. Needless to say, I didn't do that again. XD

I seem to recall that when Halo was originally intended to be Mac Exclusive, it was going to be a third person shooter.

It was never going to be available exclusively on the mac. It was always going to be available for the PC as well. Since it was developed on one. Apple was the original sponsor and producer.

I give it a 9 out of 10. I think it's the best sp so far, but I don't think it reached perfection. The cutscenes were too glitchy, and I personally believe it was more of a simple objective than a storyline, since the single driving force was "save the scientist." Not trying to flame on you, it was a great level. I'm just saying that if you're up to the challenge, I'd like to see a little more character development in round 2.

The SAME flamethrower in Halo PC was in Halo XBox right before it was cut right before release.

OK. You paid for the movie, and if you don't like it you can't get you're money back. Halo CE is free, and if you don't like it you're not getting anything back.

Appreciate the things that are free and enjoy the things that cost you.

He is implying, HiaHG, that the content made for this game is free, and this is only an add-on to an already paid-for Halo PC experience. The content cannot be compared to professional content, because it is not create by paid professionals, and you do not have to pay for said content.

HaloIsAHorribleGane, I've read your posts, you choose to live in a deep, dark, hole full of hatred and negativity, enjoy the loneliness down there, I'm not going to jump in there with you. I recommend no-one else join you either, you can't reason with the purposly unreasonable.
HaloIsAHorribleGane, you're arguing for arguments sake and from what I've read, no-one appreciates your company on these forums. I propose that everyone ignores you so you can stop feeding on the attention which appears to encourage you.
You certainly will not receive a reply from me again.

Good stuff about the map:
Very good gameplay, even with stock tags. Most of the SP maps nowadays use cmt tags or other custom tags, but seem to have lacking gameplay. This is a good exception.
Well placed encounters/AI difficulty. The encounters give a good enough challenge to the typical halo ce player, yet aren't overpowering.
Appropriate weapon placements. When there are weapons beside dead bodies, its a sign for you to take them, not leave them there.
Voice acting. One of the few halo ce SP maps outside the bungie made campaign that has voice acting. Not so good voice acting, but at least there is.

The stuff that can be improved:
Characters in cutscenes should be unable to take damage. Kinda dumb if the guys stand at the door of the peli, and you keep hearing them take damage. They can even be killed because of that.
Cutscene characters keep warping all over the place. Most evident in the ship cutscene.
Voice actors should have a little more emotion. Speech seems a little flat and devoid of emotion.

Verdict:
8.9/10. I would have believed it if Bungie said they made this if not for the improvable stuff above. Considering Halo 1 engine's capability and the type of people who made it, it truly is good.

Just finished it and I have to say, it was the best custom SP map I've ever played. The original BSPs were very good specially the outdoors and that huge hall thing in the last section. The AI was really good. Both enemy and friendly. The ODSTs were badass (nice fakebumps btw. quite convincing). Those drones were nasty! I especially liked the last section with the specops grunts and everything. I just stood there for a while and watched the colorful plasma bolts crisscross across the room. Good job on the cutscenes, I know they are pretty hard to make. There were a few glitches in the cutscenes where bipeds randomly appeared\disappeared. And like the others have pinted out, the voice actors should have a little more emotion. Although it had the stock tagset, I enjoyed it a lot, but maybe next time you could add a couple of balanced custom weapons and vehicles? Just a suggestion.
Very good stuff overall. Looking forward to the next episodes.

P.S Please add more health packs next time

Beat the level today have to say it was pretty sweet. The only thing that bugged me was the cut-scene were it wasnt scripted properly, But me and L0D3x already had a fight with that so its cool.

If your posts don't pertain to the topic at hand; get out.

This always happens on your threads doesn't it, remember the Dennis VS ASP_Grunts war?

I liked the map, it's just the buggy cutscenes that got me. the encounters were VERY good and well balanced, but they were a little too hard. The BSP was beautiful end of story. The voice acting was, well not so good. In realize it is hard to find good voice actors, but put some emphasis on it please! Loved the scenery, the trees and flowers looked great! Could of been different types of wildlife other than butterflies and birds, but at least you have something! Story was okay, kinda boring, 'go and find the captured scientist'. Reminds me of when you go save captain keys on a50. Wish you would of updated your thread more so we all knew what was going on, and how far the production was going. Glad you released it when you said you were going to release it. *Cough* CMT *Cough*. I liked most of the new enemies, the "boss elite" was sort of a fail though. The drones were the best. I like and dislike the weapons tagset, this is the year 2525, you should downgrade the weapons a little, like taking away ammo or something. There were a few glitches on the map, you could walk around a few trigger volumes and other little stuff, but nothing big.

Congrats on getting onto the Bungie homepage!

Here are your scores:

TECHNICAL:

Encounters---------------------9/10

Cutscenes----------------------6.5/10

BSP-----------------------------10/10

Voice acting---------------------7.5/10

Scenery(flowers, trees, ect)---10/10

Wildlife(butterflys, ect)---------9/10

Storyline------------------------8/10

New enemies--------------------8/10

Weapons tagset----------------9/10

Glitches-------------------------8.5/10

OVERALL TECHNICAL SCORE--85/100 --- LETTER GRADE:B --- PERCENTAGE:85%
(It's the cutscene that murdered you)

I think I covered everything in the technical category.
Next category,

TOTAL SCORE:

OVERALL SCORE---------------10/10 --- LETTER GRADE A+ --- PERCENTAGE: 100%
(It's Free)

From a technical stand point you did okay. A lot of people think like this on this forum, it's just a style of thinking, everyones different.

But from a person that just wants to have fun stand point, this could be the best Halo mod out there for them.

But in the end, what's free is free, you didn't have to make this map.

PEOPLE ARE LUCKY THEY GOT ANYTHING.

However if everyone had that attitude Halomaps.org would of died a long time ago.

So thank you for giving us this, I know you didn't have to give us anything thing at all, and this place would be even worse off.

TL;DR Version:

Good job! Can't wait for episode two!

The cutscenes were quite bugged, people were teleporting all over the place and I died atleast 5 times within the cutscenes. Encounters were quite difficult, whether that is a good thing or a bad thing I'm not sure of.

Other than that, I think it's time that I beg for Episode 2.
