What are you supposed to do when you hit the end of the bsp in the first tunnel? Has it got something to do with the script file I don't know what to do with?
NVM I think the beta map wasn't replaced. Edited by Lateksi on Nov 26, 2010 at 02:30 PM

map sux EDIT: jk. Actually, it looked really good. The only bad stuff I could find were the cutscene bugs, easy boss, shadow shaders, and liner gameplay. I don't think there were any ammo or checkpoint problems like others have said, and the voice acting was the best I've heard in a custom game. Edited by SlappyThePirate on Nov 26, 2010 at 02:19 PM

The best singleplayer experience in Halo CE! Everything except a few buggy animations was beautifully executed. Be proud of yourselves.

Someone should submit this to the Bnet news feed! I'll be happy to do it unless one of the TM people want to.

Also: lol at the drone death animation (they were in the 'unrigged-biped' pose for me)

My input to the project was minimal at best and I have to apologize for the poor quality sound files I sent over, my new office has more background noise than my old one did, but they used them anyway.
Regardless, this single play project in my opinion, even with all the little glitches, was the best single player level produced by fans that I have seen so far. It was original, has a wonderfully constructed true to Halo environment full of details such as butterflies, flowers and AI dragon wings, it has well paced game play and challenging/interesting encounters that allow you to experience the level. It is a very nice piece of work from fans. Remember that as you play it. Bungie created Halo but the fans (TM Mapping team) brought you Lumoia all on their own. What have you done?
All those hyper-critical people just have to remember how much they paid for that gaming experience when they write their reviews. You can find fault with anything but let's keep this in perspective; a bunch of guys got together spent a whole lot of time making a pretty darn good single player level just because they wanted too and gave it to you for free. How can you criticize them for that?
I liked it.

Something i thought was really good was the architecture, the final push through the covenant was set in the most beautiful forerunner environment i've seen in a halo game (Except maybe Reach's Tempest) In most parts i thought the forerunner structure was better than bungie's.
Also there are MILLIONS of crates.
Also, The secretish fuel rod is really useful when getting to the building to rescue the scientists.
I also Loved the part near the start just before you get the warthog. The dropship flying down and landing in the middle of where you were holding out which separated you from your ODST's just long enough for all hell to break loose on your side.
Encounters were great but the Wraith seemed a little weak, and the rocket warthog constantly missed a still target because of the slight homing.

tl;dr'd this thread but I just want to say that the level was great; very fun. Sure there were some cutscene bugs and such but it's definitely the best single-player level released for CE to date.

Tis an engine thing, if no other map is explicitly specified, or the map specified is unavailable, the game will boot a10. oh, ok instead of (game_won) you could just fade out to black, end cinematic_stop, then show a billboard saying the game is over, press escape. That would have fixed it Edited by MatthewDratt on Nov 26, 2010 at 07:07 PM

Heres a little video I put together to hopefully show off some of it and get the word out of this map - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGmBS-WtBK0Plus some feedback - Really enjoyed this map, it really fealt that everything was placed with great intentions of having certain effects on players. Although it isn't as visually out there as some other maps, it actually seems a good thing that it retains some form of a vanilla quality. Although at some points I stopped and stared out at the good visual parts of the map, like the waterfall whole and the general area around that. Along with the vista at the start. As its been said over and over, the voices could do with a little tweaking but its are nice that they are there. The cutscene glitches were noticable but it didn't effect my gameplay any, I really don't know why people are making it out to be so major. I thought also that the second half of the map seemed better that the first. I thought that the warthog part may have been a little to easy, although I haven't played it on a harder setting yet as I forgot to at the start and got too far. Anyway good job and hope to see more.

You get what you get when it comes to voice acting. Trying to find voice acting was like trying to find that 3p animator.
You also already gave your crit, it was more insulting than it was constructive, so kindly refrain from posting again. you're right nobody could ever possibly improve their voice acting skills, drama school totally doesn't exist saying you get what you get is a load of absolute horse crap and nothing more than an excuse. you can very much improve your voice acting, it just takes practice and acting training. but fine, don't take my crit as constructive, go ahead and throw a fit about someone giving their input and it not being asspats. have fun having crappy voices in your next installments because nobody tried to learn how to add emotions to their voices. your loss.

Just played it. The animations had a few glitches and the voice acting wasnt too good. But on the up side, the level design was good as well as the story line. All in all, it was a rather good map, lets see if they can improve with the second one.

I think the point of the different voices is diversity there. I sort of like it but some of the voices just sound like they are completely uninterested. They need more intensity in them. Even faster talking would help. The faster you talk, the more your intensity is prone to increase. Or just some light yelling may do well.

Why did you choose the name Brandon as the main ODST, it creeps me out slightly since it's my real name. But I have to say, I have never played something as original as this, felt like I was playing Halo 1 when I first got it years ago. I have never had this much fun playing in a long time. Only 2 things could have made this a lot better is some glitchy animations and cutscenes but it doesn't bother much. 9.5/10 Cheers

Yeah that's the thing about Lumoria, it's not that much of a mod as it is creating a totally new level that would fit in Halo. It has many simularities with A30 in that it shows the beauty of an alien world for the first time.

gave my opinion and feedback and everyone attacked me for it because they didn't like what I had to say. that somehow means I want attention
I'll say it again, since you've apparently not listened to anything I've said
you need to fix your voice acting next time, it's horrible. you need to fix your buggy cinematic animations. get rid of all the "fake bump maps" you've got going on, they look overly cartoony. make your next fleeing enemy flee in a cinematic so I don't waste my ammo in a big, open area again.
but hey, if you don't want to improve your stuff.... Edited by HaloIsAHorribleGane on Nov 27, 2010 at 02:48 AM

Of course you're seeking attention. Why else would you only give what you call it "crit". Why do I see you only give disapproval in you're feedback? Can you see nothing good in anything? Do you only see flaws in everything?
Why is there this feeling of perfectionism from you? Anything less than perfect is exceptionable to you.
It must be phsycological. But the only reason he finds so many flaws is because he spends all his time looking for them. If he instead spent his time helping others to overcome those flaws instead of just pointing them out, then everyone would be better off. Edited by deathraider555 on Nov 27, 2010 at 03:40 AM
