TM Introduces Immolate:
Hi, Higuy here, giving an update on what's going on with our maps so far. Fracture is being textured by Maniac, soon as he is complete, Fracture will most likely have one more beta then be released shortly after. Essence has been put on hold, and will be continued working on and released with our second map pack.
Now we introduce Immolate, and orgional map by TM. Last year, Sheer had started making a map named Immolate. The outcome is this:

Sheer had scrapped the map, and moved on shortly after. Now, TM has lately been reworking the entire map, inside and out. The map has various caves, and a expanding vista backround. The map is a dried out sandy sinkhole. With two middle bases, one contains a rocket launcher, the other housing the exit to the teleporters. The sinkhole is based in between two forerunner walls.
Now, Renders:




More detail to the walls and the interior will most likely be added, but we wanted to show the map sooner. The model was made by Sheer and Higuy, and will later be textured by Disaster, and maybe Maniac (If he's up for it or not) And lightmaped by DEE.

Erm, anyway... The new Immoculationthingymajig is a big improvement from the previous incarnation. Just add that extra detail on the forerunner structure and you're well on your way. Will there be any vehicles in this map (ghost only).

There will be no vehicles. But, me and Sheer have been debating on making a AI fly over top of the map. If we do, the AI will be invincible. The ai we debated over was 343 guilty spark, but recently I was thinking of Banshees. But were not sure yet.

Hmmm, Good thinking, since it is a sinkhole, the could be surveying the damage of the terrain.
Edit: Added onto the wall. Didn't add anything on to the top, just because you can't even see anything on the top from were the actual playing field is lol.

Only the part that you kinda see, were the two caves lead up to the middle, the parts that attach to the middle were mirrored, yes.

Yea, kind of looked like that. Is this going to be like forresty, or desert, or snowy themed? If it's snow, then I see why the mesh would be mirrored like that, because the snow would be pushed up from burying the structure.

Yeah, more of a 3 to 4 player map. I'll have to take the homing out of the rocket launcher for this map, bo whored it the entire time and killed me with it alot >_>

Alright. Me and Pope got done playing about a half an hour ago, he really liked the the new gameplay that I had put in there and we also fixed it up a bit. A 2vs2 will be held tomorrow on the map if im not at work so we can get so pretty decent gameplay in there.



It may not look like much, but its pretty fun tbh.
Pope also pointed out that I should have the teleporter on the 3rd level so people can't tele camp.

We also decided to take out the A.I because they were really weird and touching each other =S
Also about the Rockets. The item collection were the rockets spawn contain a Rocket Launcher (2 rockets only), a Flamethrower, and Sniper Rifle. As Advancebo played on Friday, he saw a Shotgun that was in the Tele room. That has been changed to a Over shield and Invisibility.
Everything is a wip, and subject to change. I still haven't heard from Maniac yet either.

I'm too lazy to read all of the posts before me so I'm not sure what the deal is.

I have a suggestion for dual SMGs, since dual weapons are always glitchy as all hell. My suggestion would be to tag it this way:


During the Halo 2 E32003 showing, the dual SMGs seemed to fire at the same time, bound to the same trigger. I'd suggest emulating this as it would work well with the Halo 1 engine.

Take an Assault Rifle, modify it to fire 2 projectiles at once. Give the trigger permanent camera impulse for the recoil. Make it so the dual SMGs replace the AR model, animations, etc.

I think you'd want to set up the muzzle flash to use the Pistol's, it looks much better than the AR's for SMGs. I'm not sure if you can use two of the same nodes in the animations (in this case the #primary trigger), but I'd say experiment around with it.

Just my suggestion though.

its only good in SP maps, and then only when an AI gives it to you. Otherwise its too variable and glitchy.

E:\ Muki, we scrapped the SMG unless someone wants to rig and unwrap it.
And it would of never been dual wielded, I was just playing around :)

If anytyhing, I will probably remodel it in a next gen fashion and unwrap and texture myself.

The map is nice but I think everything is all to dark for a desert themed map. More light is needed, and I'm not really feeling that cliff texture. I suggest something more towards the orange side - similar for the ground texture too.
