Considering the flood Ai in HaloWars is so disgusting its almost disgraceful, makes me think that it was not for balance.

They can become carriers (Grunts atleast, Jackals bones are too hollow).

These are regular AR fp animations. I like it as it is, except the hand position.

Well, I got it in game. None the less. I like how it looks.

Also, I had to move some nodes around to please me first. k? So it was more than just that.

Please refrain from posting worthless crap on this thread. That post above just lowered your iq.

No use in moving nodes, they are just going to move back into place for the animations.

Custom? as in, halo 3 models? we could do that, i can make halo 3 elite armor, except the helmet wich is the most difficult imo, making ones ourselfes results in me making 4096x4096 textures, i see a bright future in that, lol


theres so much fail in this post its not even funny.

Using 4096 texture maps is completely ridiculous. I can't name 1 game that uses texture maps at that resolution.


You can fit 16 1024x1024 maps in that. Completely insane.


This whole scenes texture maps is employed on a 4096x4096 texture map.

I don't even think some ATI cards will render maps that high.

Its completely pointless and please gtfo if your going to use textures at that resolution as its completely unnecessary.

The largest texture I have is a 2048x2048 and thats for Marcus Fenix from GOW

Halo CE cant even support 4096 textures.

You play the first four levels as you would normally as MC.
When you get to the 343 guitly spark level you play through most of it until you get to the room where flood start breaking down doors on all sides of you. when this happens instead of escaping there are too many flood and you are killed

when you get to the swamp you destroy the sentinels and manage to grap onto the monitor as he teleports to the library with a group of sentinels and marines to retrieve the index.

When you arrive at the library you discover the marines and sentinels have split into 5 groups in hope of finding the index. your mission is to hunt down all five groups using the motion tracker to guide you. You are then picked up by a flood pelican and transported back to the control room.

When you arrive you see the that Cortana has already told the seargent and the marines the truth about Halo and they managed to defeat the sentinels, bust out killing covenant as they go and have stowed away aboard a covenant dropship heading towards a covenant cruiser in hope of driving out the flood that have taken it over. However this isnt the ned of the level for you. You suddenly find you and some other flood surrounded by grunts and elites and have to fight your way out.

That's all my ideas for now, ill try and think of more later.


We have a story-line idea, but thanks for posting your idea anyway.

Splendid. You should probably do the background cinematic in the swamp, with flood combat forms running into the fog with infection forms, and some shots flying across the screen, if possible.

You about read my mind. I was going to ask where the UI should take place, and you answered. One problem: Bipeds, Vehicles, and AI exception the UI. I could make projectiles scenery, and have them flying all around, but they won't move. The one problem is making bipeds as scenery. They stick their arms out and don't look natural. I know there's probably a way to fix this, but I can't do it.

Just do the swamp wihout anything else. But add some flood spores floating around to make it creepy.

Remember that I can still add scenery... if someone could give me flood biped tags converted to scenery, while put into an interesting pose or something. Actually, I could add infection forms crawling over dead bodies, but then I need dead body scenery tags...

The reason they have arms sticking out is because that's the unrigged pose. I could try make flood combat scenery that run around, it shouldn't be too hard, just importing and exporting a few animations.

animated scenery? i suppose thats all you can do. Also im good with camera work so can i make the ui? but i cant compile it since the "links" dont show up even though i have the Main Menu folder (wierd) anyways i could send it to Gamma927 or something. Just give me what you want in it and i can make it for you guys :) Im not busy anyways. Since CvMvF cant actually begin till we get the bsp from YakZ (no pressure lol) so till then; im free. :)

Hey guys, it's been weekend and i've done some work, not much

I've just read the posts, I don't think you guys noticed, but I made an UI with flood a LONG time ago, 'bout a few months ago... ok it's with the old models ofcourse, but I had that covered in the exterior map of C10, flood stands there like the commercial of halo "believe" and the cam flies through it... just to let you know, already did that =P
I can make a custom Logo instead of the regular halo, but havn't bothered with that yet.

and 4096 res textures are pro, wtf are you babbling all about that it's pointless? are your gfx cards sucking THAT hard? I've shown you with the nanosuit it works, every frigging detail appeared and it had automatic lod cutoffs so stfu, if you can't texture that detailled then don't comment, it works and it proved it, end of discussion, i can make my stuff as detailled as i want, especially since this campaign can use it, period.

This is what I've been working on in the weekend, very early WIP, not done with the model on itself, tentacles and some custom clothes etc.



So the UI is covered, as I've had that discussion with lone before, or someone else, I think lone though, and I already compiled it as working, have to replace the scenery with the new models though

It looks good, but more werewolf than flood. Also, please don't use 4096 textures. 1024 is good enough, not everyone has beautiful cards. I for one, want to play the campaign I help make.

lol true, maybe i was right, people do have crappy cards hah

Epic Win! But yeah it looks more like a werewolf. Though it is a early WIP. I would suggest using more floodish textures.

yea it's an early wip, still have to make... pants... tentacles for the arm... and work some more on the texture =P

i would never work on a jackel, though interesting, it would be against the halo religion as a whole xD

I agree with Bo, it looks pretty zombie-ish. Ok, for one, get rid of the tenticles coming out of his chin, and stick them in either his armpit, or around his neck area. But the rest of it looks pretty cool, good work man.
