Rips can be considered work, due to the fact that you need to be able to rig, tag and get in game with proper animations. The WIP are not always about models. By the way, what is it with you and rips?

Hunter, if you seriously haven't gotten off the bottle by now about using ripped content, then you've got to be the most annoying person in this thread right now. Get over it. It requires just as much work for people to rig, CORRECT, and properly texture EXPERT MODELS. Do you want to know how many nodes and stuff would go into that Scout? A hell of a ton is for sure.

That scout was not ripped using any real work. He did not reverse engineer the game engine and get the model before it was animated. He ripped it by pressing F12 during realtime while playing the game. No real work. No real skill.

If he rips it, skins it, rigs it, textures it, etc. and does an exceptional job of it all then releases it, does that not count as work? Ripping itself doesn't take work, but the process of making it usable in the game is work. Besides, if you're making something and you're shooting for accuracy, nothing you make can come close to the real thing. Sure, you can make it look cooler, higher poly, better, etc. but if you are trying to make the original thing, nothing comes so close as rips do. I see what you mean if you get mad at people who rip and call it their own, but otherwise it's just ridiculous.

Actually for a biped like the nanosuit, rip textures, rip model, rig, done.

how about, select all geometry, and click the link button, and drag it to the bones? that solves the no geometry error, if that's the problem

or, you mean you need to add a skin modifier, and add the bones there

If you skin it, you still need to link the model to "bip01 pelvis".

have no idea where to put this but my first attempt at a biped model. i decided to do something mechanical as its the easiest. tell em what u think?

well a friend wanted the robot for his map in ut2004...when he said it be the center piece, i thought he meant like a smll statue or something ...but instead he does this(btw the eyes are behind the face plates LOL)
srry if image is too big :P
and yes i knwo the smoothing is wrong, he forgot to set the smoothing before he exported to unreal ed....lol

So I'm kinda very good with DXripper as I've used it on a huge ammount of games already

That does look sorta like a reaver lol. They should make the locust from gears of war or those mutated thing in gears of war 2 when your in the laboratory those are freiky!!!

reavers are creatures that you ride on. like a flying monster horse. you actually end up riding one towards the end of gears 2. the only thing that really looks reaveresque there is the leg things and the mouth/

those are sires. there like the first locust. The "prototypes". then they were sent into the mountain. etc.

Yeah same. The one above with the katana is BP's I think. There's al least 2 other versions floating around. I have 1 and there's another version.
