E1: Nvm, I'm not even going to awnser dumb "questions". Anyways, the Nanosuit is an epic piece of tech, concept is worked out very cool Quote: original message by Jimjim32 Imagine crossing 100 feet in 2 seconds. Imagine jumping a vertical 10 feet. Imagine bullets glancing off you. Is it the new hoodie/pumps combo you thought looked so great in the shop? No, it's the military and technical innovation of the decade. The Nanosuit. But up until now, it could only be an idea, a fiction. Until now. The principle of the nanosuit is that of artificial muscle fibre, called nano-muscles. This exotic and hi-tech material is capable of tightening and relaxing, contracting and dilating, all through electrical power. How could something so simple and yet so complex remain discarded, undiscovered? Something that could revolutionize a thousand industries? The sad truth, my friends, is that it hasn't been unknown. in fact, it's been around for quite some time. The miracle? Myomers. Electroactive Polymers, referred to as EAP's. For this, we discuss Ionic EAPs, in which actuation is caused by the displacement of ions inside the polymer. Only a few volts are needed for actuation, but the ionic flow implies a higher electrical power needed for actuation, and energy is needed to keep the actuator at a given position. With enough fibres, extreme levels of strength can be achieved, already rivaling that of a human level
Any fool with a basic knowledge of engineering can envision how such a suit could operate.
The tiny fibres, so representative of Crysis, seen covering the suits surface are individual tubes, each holding thousands of fibres. With sensors in the key joints, or even wired directly into the skin via electrodes, the suit could intercept incoming nerve signals, and order the suit to achieve them first. The result? Inhuman strength and reflexes, along with the capacity to really surprise North Koreans like that one up there. With this comes a host of applications. To jump straight up,springing vast heights, to punch with two tons of pressure behind each knuckle, or to throw someone 30 feet away from you (Handy for bar fights)
Around the joints can be seen large bulbous shapes and pistons. By clever manipulation of these, along with the nano fibres, the suit could be made to walk or run, independent of the person inside. By enabling and disabling powerful actuators and hydraulics, the suit could operate in response to the humans movements trying to run to execute a running program, to sprint faster than is possible normally, outrunning cars, evading bullets, or leaping across chasms.
Oh, that familiar pattern of hexagons and pentagons, such perfect tessellation. But utterly meaningless. Or is it? Imagine a sheet of it, made up of myomers. Then think of a small metal plate, covering each fibre, formed like an aperture, so it can close together. Then tighten it. What do you get? A tight lattice of closely packed metal plates, strong enough and tough enough to deflect, stop and deform bullets. To break the bones of any fist sent it's way. To protect from any hazard (except for ED 209). With appropriate effort and spending, this hazy dream of tomorrow, and it stops you getting so could easily be today. if you're bored, you could read it. You know what's the best thing? the character folder for the nanosuit is 50 mb, that includes the 2048x1024 res bitmaps Edited by BeachParty clan on Mar 1, 2009 at 01:29 PM

The last suit (the one on the far right) is freaking awesome. Good job working these into the game. Quite an accomplishment since no one else has done it from Crysis to HCE yet. Edited by DarkHalo003 on Mar 1, 2009 at 01:19 PM

I got the arm textures and edited them as usual, a few sapien pics: Time to rig the FP arms now, followed by the suit, but I'm also working on the flood models so it'll take awhile. A new texture is almost done: Blood soaked suit. Farcryer made it originally, will post pics about that soon.
