I think you should import the sceneries in max and use them as BSP... With envt shaders then bumps.

Errors. you can make the materials uncollidables and create a more simple invisible collision2. Some objects have physics, some have animations. Neither can exist in a BSP. keep those3. We want the final version of the map to be easily modifiable by as many people as possible. Requiring people to have to recompile the BSP out of Max would just over complicate things. And you can add an unused second BSP if you have tagspace. Just saying to improve graphics, you're not forced to do it.

Find a slave to do collision models since it's simple, then link to the object and it's done

Quote: --- Original message by: waffles If I had the time and effort, I could do a tutorial on what I've learned in my own experience, tbh the renderer you choose can make all the difference, and welp! I've jumped on the vray bandwagon, and I can say little needs to be done in the form of "fixing" errors when rendering lightmaps. All it comes down to is how detailed you want the shading.
BUT, there is the fact that CE's uv utilization and optimization is absolute garbage. See several h3 scenarios with 1 lightmap bitmap, actually using all the usable area of the texture, and prioritizing Larger area lighting over smaller, and vise versa.
Using OS's lightmap uv importing, you can completely re-map the stock uv pages, and overwrite the old. And before anybody says anything about OS vs Stock, the command is not going to break stock maps, and won't force you to use OS. Its merely a tool to modify EXISTING UV's within the sbsp tag.
Halo 3 did all lighting outside of the engine, seeing as we have the tools, theres no reason we cant.
As to the topic of the scenery objects and graphics, you can technically achieve the same results through baking details or lighting from the normal maps without potentially breaking development for more error fixing. And WITH OS its a better idea to make use of the scenery objects anyway. When will you be online?

This happens when ripping with hek+ sometimes. Try checking the vehicle and model animations tags, maybe they have messed up functions.

A nifty little terrain editor, as described by L28's alternate account on the previous page. PS: Altheros is actually L28 :-) Shocker! Edited by The Lodeman on Feb 28, 2013 at 06:44 PM

This is unbelievable! I hope everyone is done wagging their dicks around in public flailing for a tape measure to try and top each other over an insignificant unsupported hardly noticed video game on an out of the way meaningless forum that several of you are so pathetic that you want so badly to to be here you have created numerous accounts or begged me to not delete your posts again swearing you would be good.
The way you people act... so much to prove to the world and so clueless as to how to go about doing it. Well you're doing it wrong. This is neither the place or the time and definitely not the way or the subject that matters. It makes you look small. Making fake accounts to troll and insult is the height of cowardice and is infantile behaviour showing a lack of personal integrity or respect for others.
Talk about the freaking game and leave the rest of your nonsense for your own personal version of the schoolyard, because its not welcome here. Your drama is truly pitiful.
Return to he topic of the thread.

maybe tone down the grunge on the FP arms?

I've added some trim materials, modeled some extra stuff in, and fixed up all the scenery. DSalimander has been hard at work running lightmaps at full quality, just to test the final lighting with the current set up D:

since the fans are vehicles, we get dynamic shadows, right?
Like I said, does the CE engine support atmospheric particles, because if it does, it would be cool to see some more advanced lighting effects
