Semi-fixed up the spartan colors, so it doesn't look so saturated.






I'm going to have to make minor edits to the markers on the spartan but other then that I think it's pretty much golden.

You mean the new braces? It looks odd, I know. It's one of those things I never figured out with Halo. Some shaders look clear in fog while others fade properly.


that because those are scenery objects right? if so, use shader_models and add a reflection mask using a multipurpose map so it can blend with the fog

there are many features that were removed from the old xbox version when it was released for PC

1.- there was a h2 like atmospheric fog effect(if anyone has the old xbox halo you can play 343 guilty spark and see it yourself)
2.- bump mapping on shader environment tags could be seen without the need of using a dynamic light
3.- shader environment tags could use reflection mask on scenery objects
4.- as far as i remember, water looked better in the xbox version (?)

Nah, the saturation looks fine to me.
I think it needs a tad more gloss on the cubemap. Metal looks a bit dull at the moment.

yeah, too much gloss is better than to little in this case

we can argue about how H3 over uses it later :P

More gloss would be nice even if its as overkill as halo reach's Reflection cubemap.

Well,I think it could be changed a bit.
It's up to 094 to decide whether to leave it how it is or tweak it some more.

Also, testers, please type up and post any and all issues you have found while testing. Currently we need to:
- move the dumpster on the right, people land between the crate and dumpster too often.
- reduce the amount of grenades you spawn with.

- Plasma rifle has too much screen shake.
- Shotgun needs a slight tone-down.
- Flag getting behind the fences.
- Forklift collision needs major fixing.
- Player model seems too dark.
- Stairs clipping with bsp.
- BR needs beefing up, better homing.
- Dumpster collision itself can cause "hopping" lag.
- Forklift needs new drive-forward sound (warthog driving sound is heard from afar).
- Switch primary grenades to frags.
- Brute shot needs to "push" things.

I'll go through with some thought input on the spartan shaders/bitmaps. Since I think these are the final lightmaps or close too so I can adjust as necessary.

We don't really "pick" our beta testers, we hand betas out to those who have established a real working relationship and have been helpful to us in any significant way. Just being a popular beta tester doesn't really get your foot in the door (except for one instance.)

Masterz - has been there from the beginning, and while he hasn't really contributed anything materialistic, he's always a good person to have around, and he knows what he's talking about when it comes to gameplay and criticism. (CMT leader)

ShadowSpartan - he joined for fun. He did technically contribute the tagset (Zteam).

Mooseguy - a good person to work with, fun and capable (Descent)

Kirby - nuff said

Invader Veex - developer and H3MT member.

Akrylic - original modeler of Foundry and H3MT member.

Qwerty - help with making scenery objects into proper vehicles. Worked with him before.

Spartan094 - falls into the developer category.

MattDratt- we used to rip maps and leak for a living. Fun times. Server host and trailer maker. Lots of sound help.

Yoko - sound contribution and such.

Any others have contributed to my projects in the past, even if not this one.

We invited Dennis, but he is a busy man.

Actualy, all looks pretty awesome, the just little things who are not good (for me):

-The fog looks doesn't very good, I see the video and some screens, maybe it's my computeur idk right now
-That h3 spartan needs to work on the shield, change the setting for it more looks like halo 3's one.
-It would be cool if the spartan will had some permutations.

And, It's difficult to critic because I didn't played the maps.
