Man, either you guys are still running debug lightmaps, or the interior lighting of Halo 1 really sucks. The map doesn't have any atmosphere. It's plain and boring looking, afraid to say.

For doing a Halo 3 "quality port", you guys sure chose the wrong map imho.

Lmao, you're so easy to piss off.
Halo 1 lightmaps simply look bad, you can't deny that. Even run in full quality, aside from the Godrays, it's just lifeless. And as you say yourself, foundry is a giant repetitious room. The monotone color scheme also adds to the poor atmosphere.

A predictable little cry-baby, that's all you are.
Did you know that Jesse told me he wouldn't shake your hand in real life? Due to your dirty habits such as weed smoking and masterbating in xfire group convos :-)
Think I'm bsing? Hydrogen and Eliteslasher invited me to one such group convo where you were high, and indeed, masterbating. It's hard to take someone such as yourself seriously :P

That error means you tried to join a server but you didn't have the map file (with a matching checksum).

The reason you don't have the map file is because we didn't send it to you.

The reason we didn't send it to you is because it was a closed beta.

It was a closed beta because the server only holds 16 people and we had to decide, out of everybody here, who could be trusted the most with it. Even though fun is something we aim for, the primary purpose of the beta is to find bugs (and oh boy did we). It's not like this is your only chance to play, soon the level will be released and you can play at your own leisure (or go play Halo 3). On top of that, as I said, we will try to set up a gamenight or something of that nature on release day.


Ah,I see.It's okay.I'm not sad or anything,it's just that I'm bored. I have Halo 3 but I don't have a map pack (I don't know what is it called) which has foundry in it.

-Spawn weapons are inconsistent, I'd make it be AR/Pistol or AR/BR all the time.
-Grenades, I'd do what h3 did. Max of 2 per type, and spawn with 2 frags. The fact the map is scenery makes grenades super powerful, as the damage effect passes through any object on the map.
-I THINK I saw a shotgun spawn up by where the brute shot does by the left office/flag room. Not to sure if it was that or if it was dropped in the general craziness.
-Is the health going to regenerate? If not health packs please!
-BR uses older burst firing method, message me about this
-Frag model clips ground and is significantly larger than plasma grenade
-PR screen shake is to much
-Is there a way to improve the forklift so the prongs can lift stuff?
-Pistol was very weak, in h3 its okay since it's dual wielded, here it just sucks. I'd increase the damage so it takes one less headshot to kill for the next build, or replace it with BR for the starting weapon.
-RL lens flare is overly lensflarey and distracting. This is more a personal thing, feel free to ignore it.
-Another personal preference, I'd redo the grenade panel in the HUD to just be frag and plasma and move the placements so it's visually balanced. Right now it's just a cocktease seeing them in the HUD.

All in all, it's a great port, and while I'm not a fan of CE multiplayer, this help my interest far longer than anything else in a long time.

I think Jesse may have mentioned last night night that health does in fact regenerate. The forklift can pick up people. What else is there, other than the wire spool? (does it pick that up? I never tried)
Not too sure whether it should be increased or not. It was very useful to me, however took 5 head shots from across the map on someone that isn't moving.

I'm going to tone down the fog, if affects some objects in a bad way.

BR and pistol need more power.

Heath DOES recharge

Forftt physics are limited because of CE.

I don' like the BR in general

I'll increase the size of weapons in 3p when dropped, reduce frag size

I'll remove the spike and incendiary grenade options from my HUD

(keep gloss, just tone down the vibrancy of the blue)

Not sure if this has been addressed yet, but going off of screenshots the UNSC symbol on the crates seems to shine through the fog.

I decided to compare the H3 Spartan with it's counterpart in Halo 3.

Seems that the blue is a bit light.
Maybe a little more saturation?

Make sure no scenery uses shader enviroment shaders because that messes up fog.

Yeah, it just ruins the specular and doesn't look right, which is why I made shader_model versions for tags that use the same texture as the BSP. Warehouse_wall for example is used by the BSP, but also some scenery.
What I did was use the warehouse_wall diffuse on the shader_model, check off alpha testing and use a new multi. It saves tagspace and still looks good.

Step 5:take control over Halo maps ✔

Step 6:take over 343 industries ✔

Step 7:erase all evidence of halo ✔ (what you are playing is not halo)

Step 8:Take over the U.S ✔

Step 9:Build a time machine ✔

Step 10:build a mind control device ✔

Step 11:go 500 years into the future and brainwash the covenant into thinking I am there master ✔

Step 12:send covenant into the past 500 years to glass the entire planet (not yet BUT SOON!!)

Step 13:build a large spaceship that can fly across the universe (soon enough so ✔)

Step 14:name universe after my mapping team (ah what the hell ✔)

Step 15:Destroy altheros (you best be waiting altheros i'm coming for you)
