I just noticed what has been bothering me this whole time Is there any way to make the metal panels look more metallic? everything looks like it is made from the same material, and there is a general lack of detail in the bsp I know about the poly limit, but it's just something that has been bothering me textures are excellent though E: also, the FP arms need more gloss see how the metal panels are reflective, can you do something like that? I think you really need to revise your shaders to match Halo 3 alot better, and stop running debug lightmaps. It's very noticeable!

I think the shaders are somewhat close, at least in specularity and material IDs, but its impossible to replicate that shiny reflectiveness without totally mucking it up for other angles. At some point it just becomes about trade-off. The lightmaps are 'HQ' but halo's radiosity is a piece of dump. We're working on hopefully getting it lit up using those fancy-scmancy 3ds lighting setups.

The shader I liked at most in Halo was the bloodgulch blue base panels, panels unhearthed ext I think. You should try to use the cubemap from my reach bipeds , not the one with the reflection and stick it on that. I'm not sure it will look good though

We're not running final lightmaps just to test one change. Lately I've been running debug ones (25 mins) to test changes in the BSP UVs.

We don't need the trip mine or bubble shield, those would be weapon tags that don't work too well in CE.

It's one of those things I never figured out with Halo. Some shaders look clear in fog while others fade properly.
