Is that TV screen will able to see someone?

I hope it is.

not possible; that would require the ability to create and manipulate custom cameras that generate a bitmap in real time which is then applied as a material to a plane. unless that is possible in the halo CE engine, then no real time TVs :C

Many innocent people die (or something like that).

And if they don't?

Say again?

Well, that sucks. It'd be cool to spy on enemies/friends.

I had an idea of "press E to view camera" and it teleports the players' view to the camera, which is a controllable vehicle so you could move the view, but meh.

@ waffles, can you make it glow blueish and have fancy scanlines?

Also people, I think all the crates and stuff will be replaced with the H3 ones, the H3MT ones look kinda bad and the UVs don't use the texture space well, meaning higher res images for cruddy results.

Made a thread at Modacity aswell.

Everything except biped rigging.

Hey, jess, i thought of a way to make those security camera monitors work. It wouldn't be exact, but it would show the rough position of characters. Place about 5 bipeds looking straight down where ever that picture was taken. Then take 5 different screenshots from the camera's point of view when you're standing underneath them, one picture for each biped. Then set those bitmaps to be permutations and set the default to the empty one. then run a continuous script that constantly checks if any of the bipeds can see any player. If one can see a player, then set the bitmap permutation to the one of the character standing underneath the biped that can see it. And run another script that recreates the bipeds every time a player joins, so that they'll sync.

Opinions?

No, it's Gungnam style.

Progress from a week ago that I didn't post:

Halo 3 crate ingamed with "meh" shaders and a collision model to match.

(ignore the obvious shader error with the UNSC symbol)

I obviously need to mipmap those detailmaps.

What did 094 do with the H3 Spartan?
Wasn't he fixing it or something?

Honestly, for me 094's shaders looks like sheer plastic with horrible fake bumped

Assuming you can do better.

I have not done any shaders for any of the scenery in foundry.

Since I just got done being sick, I'm going to fix the weapons and try to fix the spartans color change. Since blue and red are far to saturated.

Decreasing the lightness of the CC map by 15 could work.
Try values between 10 and 15

Well, since Maniac is the only person who posted things to add to the level, I guess he wins by default. Pity.

Maniac is one of the greatest contributors to this community. I also believe he could have made the models and textures from scratch, seeing how he is a great artist.

Seeing that this project was going along so great, I assumed that you guys would have not needed any help.

He didn't, they came from a sci-fi lounge.

He didn't say maniac wasn't a big contributor, maniac has done a lot for foundry that isn't seen.

We weren't asking for help on making the necessary tags for the map, we were asking of anyone wanted to contribute some tags to be featured in foundry.

I'm currently working on the collision models for all the scenery pieces, I or 094 will get to them once I finished getting all the essentials ingamed.

Ok, I wasn't being negative towards DSal when I said "Maniac is one of the greatest contributors". I was stating that Maniac contributed a lot towards this community in terms of models and textures. Especially, custom textures. Sorry if I made it sound that way.

Worked on the shaders for the crates. I also added the right detail map. Obvious decal is obvious.

Is the forklift going to be drive-able?

Also, will some of the smaller crates be set up as un-drivable vehicles so that they can move?

Progress is coming, I hadn't done much the past month due to lazyness and school (neither related to the other, I swear.)

The BSP model is completely done, I just need to properly add the forklift and cranes...

Kirby and I had something special for the forklift, so yeah.

Your shaders are really awful, if you just left the diffuse map and specular map without that ugly fake bump effect and apply a good cubemap that reacts like a specular lighting, it will look good rather than your famous sheer plastic shaders with the ugly fake bump lines.

As if you can do any better, within the limits of normal Halo.

The last error is certainly a lightmap extraction error, you just need to add a, placeholder where it's supposed to be...

The secondary test map I had sent to DSalimander was on a totally different BSP (Turf) and that one didn't work either.
