I wish we could port all the halo 2 stuff before we even thought of touching halo 3.

Yeah, porting in theory should be much easier than making stuff from scratch. If you aren't super amazing at modeling, animating 3rd person, animating first person, etc. then if you get stuff that has already been well done by a game studio and port it into Halo and do some tagging, voila... quality stuff. Then again porting COD stuff isn't very Halo like, but who said you had to port COD?

Xor, Elites were not Covenant at end of Halo 2. Rest of your story seems implausible.

Peter, Halo- Verse control room is exact same as b40's with few extra polygons and beam that serves no purpose.

Well yeah, but that was just from Truth's fleet. What about a completely seperate fleet that never took part in Reach, h1, h2, h3odst, or h3. Yeah, pretty wild, but I hope to make it someday in the ultimate campaign.

The only thing I can think of is that in one of the comics they tell you how after the covenant war the Elites then turn on the brutes and essentially wipe them out and destroy their homeworld. But the question then is how could you incorporate humanity into that?

In all those forerunner's in your stories, should be replaced by rebel's that found a cache of forerunner weapons and combat skin's.

The original forerunner concepts were pretty much like the Geth from Mass Effect.

P.S Hunter, you seen Halo Legends? Despite it being a cartoon, the episode with Forerunners has quite a few good concepts, including their love for light-based weaponry.

The forerunners must've looked very similar to humans, hence why all humans were immediately recognised as 'reclaimers', a place reserved previously for forerunners, when the recognisers in question are Forerunner AI that have not got any data on humans, only that which is necessary for their installation. Humans are the only species recognised as reclaimers. Seeing as we never see forerunner faces, a good guess would be near-human. Very near human.

Not really. Forerunners selected humans out of all species to be reclaimer, and Installations have vast databanks, they have more enough data on Humans but not their history.

Bipedal, yes. Humanlike, no.

Humans were selected as the reclaimer's, to hence, reclaim the Forerunner technology.

Humans =/= Forerunners.

I guess I was wrong, thx for that correction. Why do monitors never refer to humans as humans?

In the cutscene where 343 Guilty Spark shoots johnson with his laser face in Halo 3, 343 Guilty Spark says to John 117 "You are a child of my makers, inheritor of all they left behind. You ARE Forerunner, but this ring is mine".

The 'chief is actually referred to as 'Forerunner'.

I don't like the depiction of the forerunners either... even bipedal is pushing it. The forerunner archiatecture doesn't have any stairs, only ramps. I would like it if the foerunners mirrored the sentinels a bit more, being either more insectlike or flying or something.

I don't think they should have even needed doors, they were so advanced that they could have just teleport anywhere.

Look, Bungie says they were bipedal, Halo Legends says they were bipedal. If you haven't watched the movie, then watch it. Besides, it is implied in the games that forerunners were human like.

Monitors focus on one goal, activation. No time for names, they not say "Elite" or "Sangheili" either. Reclaimers were designated as the successors of the Forerunner technology so they could access the rings, so technically...

Not to mention 343 was rampant.

If you guys want to know more about the Forerunners you can always read the new book they made about them. Its called Halo Cryptum and it does actually answer some questions.

Are you sure? Because that almost looks like a screen from one of the Reach live action trailers. If you really want to find pictures for the Halo MMO I believe you can find some on the Halo Wiki and probably on Bungie.net

this thread is kinda boring right now, soooo. thread bump, whats the news on bone yard? and are there any reach Spartans in progress?

EDIT: if your having trouble getting the BSP ingame i would be happy to take it or another on, like you asked a while ago

I can BSP model... but yeah more people to help would be helpful. What's the point of having 2 teams that are trying achieve the same thing when you could have 1 team that can get things done better/faster?

Well it's been like 4 months since this thread was started. We don't have anything to show for 4 months. Any campaign maps, firefight, UI, multiplayer maps, tags? Come to think of it, the only other member of HRCEMT I've talked to is Petera. I don't even really know who else is on the team. None of us seem to really know what we're supposed to be doing. Even if we do, nothing is being coordinated effectively to get something legit produced. But yeah, perhaps one team is a better idea.

I've agreed to hold a vote if I leave, for someone else to take over HRCEMT. People have agreed to stay on, and seeing as, yes, I have gone to extensive planning rather than action and coordination of members, I may even reconsider my eventual quitting, I'll just have it alongside exams and hope all goes well. I dunno.

I will keep this open as long as possible. Maybe up until 2013, say. A bit of a step up. By then I'll have developed some skill, got my concepts in-game and overcome annoying exceptions preventing me from getting my models in-game. Seriously, if I had the skill, what I'm working could get done in a matter of days. For someone actually decent, maybe a matter of hours, I don't know. Anyway, HRCEMT will live long. And prosper.
