already tried it there isn't an effect that does it that i can find, i've looked in the health pack tag it's self. effects, globals, ect, can't find it and i would really like not to have to ask for a scrip to do it

I don't believe I've heard or seen anybody do that before. The first thing I'd check is if it works in 3rd person as well as 1st person, whic narrows it down a bit. Can't really tell for sure.

wait, what?, i'm talking about when you pick up a health pack or something and your screen flashes blue, i'm wandering where i can make a change to take that function out

and if you meant fly cam then yes it does still flash

lol, but yeah, we should make them more intelligent and worthy opponents. Like the h2 brutes!!:D No just kidding, but yeah, they should be hard, but not frustrating like the h1 elites. I'm working on that kind of stuff.

yeah, i've seen some maps that say they have enhanced AI, but when you get in to play, all it is is some elites with super shields and power weapons, im making it actually be a challenge but still preserving the overall setup of the halo 1 ai, they will have barely stronger shields and the same weapons as halo 1, a little better aim and smarter then normal so they can track you down for miles and kill you

Yeah, well a new version of the h1 AI would be nice. The originals were so frustrating. I tried playing on Heroic, as soon as I pop out of cover, boom, one elite and a couple plasma pistol starting shooting at me. After 2 seconds all of my shields are down and I've lost a 4th of my health. That's called: "poorly designed gameplay" in my opinion. For me anyways, popping out of cover in halo 2 and getting nailed in the chest by a beam rifle and dieing instantly was more frustrating than fun.

Too true. Sometimes, I think "challenging" gameplay overrules the entertainment aspects.

So can I, lol. We're talking about custom content with waaay overpowered AI, or annoying checkpoints where you get sniped constantly (Halo 3)

Yeah, one of the beauties of Reach was that the AI feel like legit enemies, but aren't frustrating to fight. Like the elites, they absolutely feel like worthy enemies, but are easy enough that they you can take them on in epic close range duels. They die in 2 melee's, but they also do a TON of damage in melee, so it really forces the player to play strategically. For me, Reach is the most fun out of any game. (also thanks to the DMR :P)


Alright, we should get a list of all of the weapons that we are going to use in Reach CE. Petera, I reccomend you put up a more official list:

I'm working on a needle rifle. i haven't been able to work on it much nowadays because of school. but break is in 3 weeks and i've been working on it on weekends so it's coming along.

We need to do something for CE3. Like make a map, have a VIdoc or something.

Look what I found in the Halo Wiki from the article about Halo Custom Edition:

Halowiki:

"Theoretically, everything possible with the Halo 2/Halo 3 engine is also possible with Halo CE, but is often imperfect."

While obviously not as good as Reach, we can do this.

i'll give you guys my forge world bsp when i'm done, you might as well not bother with the forge blocks because i'm about 45% done texturing and modeling them. i'm actually compiling a test run of forgeworld right now

I don't believe you. There is nothing to extract BSPs from Halo 3, and you can't even extract a standard model from Reach right now.


I'm pretty sure he made the bsp and forge blocks.

Awesome so we are doing firefight!!! I could help with that. Also, what bipeds are we using for the Covenant? Are we going to have the firefights in Single Player format. By the way, I am on Long Night of Solace in my playthrough of the campaign for Reach. It's awesome!!! I just finished the part where you drive the Sabre and now I am going into the Corvette!!!!

Ah, long night of Solace...if only reach had more levels like it...
Anyway, is anyone working on making a sabre? IF you are I have some suggestions on how it should work.

I said it once, I'll say it again. This has never been used to my knowing. It would make a great sabre replacement:

-The Stingray goes slightly faster than its uglier brother, the Longsword.
-around 1,700 triangles
-craft has no cockpit, but seats still work
-to get in the ship, climb up a wing or the tail area, and walk to the left window for thedriver seat, right window for gunner
-bottom hatch does nothing, only there for looks
-rockets do nothing against other stingrays, as far as I've tested, making the rocket an air-to-ground weapon only
-gauss cannons might need damage adjustments
-SPECIAL BONUS: Personalize your stingray! I've included a pack of different colored cubemaps. Open the shader labeled "r_steellight.shader_model", scroll down to the cubemap, and from there you can choose any one of the cubemaps I've included in the zip.
