Hey guys, I'm actually out of school but I just finished moving into a new place. Thats why progress kinda slowed down. I'm just finishing up moving and just got my internet up and running today. I will release a beta soon and I'm in the process of setting up a simple site for download as well as showing off my other texture projects. For those that have stuck with the project for a long long time.... there is no other word but thank you. It will be released and I will continue working on it and perfecting it. Its been a really fun project, thanks again! (its not dead!)

Would you like some help? If he accepts YOUR help, the quality of this mod will drop ten-fold and take at least two times as long to complete. Well your project "Unggoys r us" or whatever the crappy name is, will most likely fail into oblivion. Who would want to run around a map killing grunts? just because his project sucks too doesnt make the statement made any less true not picking sides, just stating facts Edited by Delicon20 on Sep 26, 2011 at 09:42 PM

If you haven't already, I'd suggest looking more into that Forerunner and understanding how it is more sleek and metallic in comparison to rustic/dirty/old.

I don't think Dano would be too happy about people prefering this art over his, although I agree. This man does a much better job with environments.

uhhhh you all realixe that in order for this to show up with spv3 it would require cmt to not edit ANY of their textures for their environments.... this texmod is a texture replacement. lets use a moon for exapmle. if cmt uses a moon other than the stock moon that Sorrysoldout has replaced with his better looking one, cmt's will still show up. SSO's moon wil still load but it wont be anywhere in the game. same with grass and every other texture used. his texmod edits STOCK game textures. if you want this to work with spv3 then ask cmt to nicely not change ANY of their enviroment textures. and even if they were insane enough to do that what happens to the people who dont use texmod? they have nice guns and elites and spartans and etc but a crappy h1 textured world. so no im sorry to break your hopes and dreams but the only way these two projects would work well is if SSO directly gives his textures for cmt to manually place into their mod, or cmt agrees to work on SSO's schedule and not release their builds until he has had time to finish his texmod. oh and if they do the second one have fun using ingame console commands, cuz without an external application, you cant. sorry but thats just the reality of it :/

I never said that it should be used with spv3. I'm sure that CMT are perfectly capable of creating quality stuff. spv3 looks brilliant so far. What I'm saying is that this texmod and spv3 make me very, very happy (hence the smiley face). They are both excellent quality compared to other improvement mods produced, so much so that they put the game up to current-gen standards.

So chances are taking a few seconds out of your busy schedule to activate the game through texmod will not go unnoticed. Besides, cmt usually uses at least some stock textures (like the original grass) for their additional bsp environments, and almost every environment texture from any mod (including cmt and tm) use stock bitmaps for base or detail maps (esp. micro detail maps), At least that's what i've gathered from my studying of the far more fancy environments of the modding world. BTW i learned this from YOUR texmod actually lol Edited by Delicon20 on Oct 17, 2011 at 04:54 PM

del is correct and reading it again, my post sounds a lot more negative then i had intended it to be. all i was trying to convey is to not expect full compatibility. and yes chances are you will see SSO's textures and i cant say this for sure but if he edits normals, then they will probably match HIS textures and if cmt adds in normals in their textures then (first of all youd have a smexy lookin halo) chances are would have one set of textures with another set of normals on top of them and that could look buggy. im not saying dont use this with cmt's stuff (cuz i prolly will at one point or another) im just trying to point out what might go wrong. also if they change (for example) truth and recon to be snowy then SSO's texmod would make it look out of place. again gotta stress that im not knockin either of these projects OR their potential combined usage but simply pointing out what could go wrong

I only commented pertaining to environments, so logically one would deduce I was talking about SPv2's environmental textures. I love (most of the) SPv3 weapon textures. But people should stop talking about SPv3 in this thread, this thread is about this particular texmod, which rocks.

I'm late to this thread, but I just wanted to toss in my two cents worth:
These new textures are simply stunning in all positive definitions of the word. The cliffs engender elation and excitement knowing that something that sexy is possible in this game. The recent purchase of a 360 controller for Windows has revived my fascination in Halo: PC/CE, but this has carried that fascination to a whole new level.
My only complaint is that these textures are not yet in the hands of the community (from what I saw; I didn't read every single post) because these textures would look stunning in custom made maps (I am currently lacking a ground and cliff bitmap for my map).
Keep up the fantastic work and may you enjoy success and prosperity in all of your endeavors!

(ei they look right in some places but others they make it look out of place) so which ones arent you touching? ]well i tried doing this my self and i realized that halo PC only likes certain textures if you don't use texmod. so i downloaded some reach textures and halo 3 textures and they are sitting on my pc gathering dust, but i decided to not be lazy and be awesome about this. i currently worked on MC's textures. and they turned out good..................HUH......................who knew Edited by Noble117 on Oct 20, 2011 at 06:05 PM
