Holly crap dude. Did you use bloom or any editing at all on this picture? Mostly just wandering because of how the reflection reacts on the pistol, it's not like any of the reflection maps i've seen before, because the reflections are coming off of the model. like you've used a blure effect or bloom.

Probably a post processing effect, you can have stuff like that in OS.

And will SPV3 be taking advantage of Open Sauce?

So you can't get graphics like that without modding the actual game engine? Well that sucks, oh well "shrugs". I do love that a simple textmod will make the entire game look like it's years ahead of the time it was made though. And the question has always haunted me. If it's so easy to make the halo 1 models and structures look so good with a texture mod, and we're just a bunch of guys doing this in our free time, why couldn't bungie do it when they made the game?"shrugs again" whatever. looking amazing and keep up the good work i hope to see updates and i'll be watching

wow.... because this was their first game? because it was how they wanted it to look like? because the engine is limited in the first place?

So this isn't your first game making\modding and you have a lifetime of experience making games with a professional game design company?...In my opinion anyone who would want a game to look like crap when they released it is foolish....if the engine is so limited then why is it that people can mod the bitmaps that bungie created into something much more realistic using basically the same tools that they had?. Lol what my point was is that if we, a bunch of unprofessionals, can make the game look better with the same tools they used why couldn't they? Anyway this isn't really the place to get into it so if you wish to continue we shall do it through private messaging.

Halo is an old game and Bungie just didn't have texmod when they made the game. Texmod and photoshop are both fairly recent applications.

And exactly who says you can only make texture modifications with those two programs? I'm quite sure that bungie, if they so pleased, could have made the texture better with the programs they used at the time, hell i've been working on taking the textures they made into PAINT.NET! and you can do such amazing things with them with nothing but that-don't believe me? take a look

You can do this kind of stuff in ms paint for crying out loud. This is the last i'll talk about it on this thread, we can either make a new thread to continue the discussion or continue through pm- or drop it if you so please, i now conclude my posting here

PS has been around for ages, with H1 they were on a tight timeframe, they just didn't have time to make super duper awesome textures. H1 had the best graphics in it's day for next gen systems.

Is this sarcasm? If not, Bloom is basically a graphics modifier that you can insert into older games as a filter sort of deal. It basically adds a dynamics lighting on all surfaces. It's not by any means a graphics update and it's not part of the engine. Someone around here has a more detailed version than mine though.

Too bad I can't get it to work, is it only available for lower than 1.09 versions?

Version changer doesn't actually change your version of CE though, it just tricks the game so it can read servers on different versions.

It was originally written for GTA so any incompability problems are likely to do with your computer, not the game version, as I believe it's not compatible with some hardware.

Also, the filter is uses is a cheap trick to make the game look better. It really hurts my eyes after a while, just like the filter effects in Reach or H3.

just tried enbseries, epic (accounts for 50% of the epicness in each of the screenshots for this texmod), but it killed my framerate drastically.

putting it in words, if your pc can't run enbseries smoothly don't expect your game to look anything like soldout's when you're using his texmod.

Apparently it works a lot more smoothly on directx 10. It's unfortunate that I have XP. -.-

Did you enable everything you want in the config, and check their settings to make sure they're actually doing anything?

Great... Screwing around with this ENBSeries stuff and now my d3d9.dll is screwed. I'll have to re-install.

Just take another ENBSeries and post the d3d9.dll in you main halo directory. It should be fixed then. Use the enb series in my video above. It works for me

I have turned off enb series since the first page of shots, this is all straight texture work.

Speaking of which I put a new video together which is my texmod with no enb series enabled.

Check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWQZamYbaec

I plan on releasing a beta in a few weeks with hopes to continue working on the project for the weeks and months following the release. Right now, most of the level textures are changed but much work is still left to be done on the character models and gun textures. Thank you for all the continued support and interest!
