I love how you argue with and lie to me, then when it is proven that you were wrong, you just dismiss me as a kid, you won't even admit to being wrong, its really pathetic.

@Sorrysoldout I am really looking forward to this, I wont say it is better than CEA, because I don't hold you to the same standards as a professional game studio :P But this is still amazing regardless, by far the best texture work I have seen in the game so far.

Any updates?

Any chance you know to get normal maps working in texmod btw?

P.S. I found an autoloader for those of you worried about having to load texmod constantly. Not tested it yet because I'm busy but you can try it out if you want.

yeahhhh... thats mine but its alrite i dont really seek credit for wrk, -also that one was an alpha build and the textures got DRAMATICALLY better... but i still never completed them- besides i admire sorrysoldouts work and quite frankly, i thinks its better then mine. but hey if ya want some help with your textures for completion, send the originals to me ill touch them up and then send them to you for your judgement :]

this mod looks awesome and i think it would be awesome if you could make some new and custom effects for projectiles and grenades to weapons and make better looking blood (halo 1s blood looks bad in my opinion). good job and keep it up!

This. Can people please stop constantly asking for updates? I know this stuff is cool, but rushing the person will cause issues with any release.

having worked with texmod, i can assure you; the progress he has made so far is tremendous. every time you make a new texture you have to reboot halo to see how it looks (at least that is how it was for me) so making sure one surface looks just right takes a bit of time. and also many of the textures in halo are used throughout many different parts of the whole campaign so the textures have to be edited so that they will look appropriate for more then one level. not to mention the time spent simply MAKING the custom texture in photoshop or whatnot

And since he says there is a release date coming up soon I just wanna add this tid bit of info: you don't need a better graphics card or anything like that to run texmod but (this is mainy for sorrysoldout) some computers do ocasionally display screen tearing when the replaced textures have higher resolution.. now that's not to get people worried. I have tried it on 15 different machines with different hardware ranging from good to bad and this happened ocasionally on even some of the nicer machines with varying graphics settings but from experiance it only happenes when texmod itself is continually rebooted. So don't go starting texmod 20 times an hour... but that is seriously the only issue with using texmod. Which 90 percent of you won't see. So if you can run halo, you can run this.

Hey I got a question for ya. Are you going to release your mod as files/tags to replace, and compile maps for are selves, or are you going to release actual maps to download?

cus I would totally like the tags/files way more than maps, that way I can incorporate them in my own personal mods.

I don't release my mods to anyone, at least not yet (it's more of a hobby).
If I ever do Ill always give credit where it's due, with permission of course.

Oh and I don't think you should add new vehicles, bipeds, weapons, or really anything.
Just re-texture cus there's to many halo2/3/Reach copy's/mods around, and to little good old fashioned Halo 1 enhancements, though custom lightmaps would be nice but I can do that myself.

So keep it up buddy, I know how much work your doing. Take all the time you need.

This mod's not using any map modification or new tags. It's a retexture through texmod. It's not applied directly to the maps themselves, instead it just extracts the textures from the game and replaces them with new ones added by the texture artist. It adds the textures through an external app and has no connection whatsoever to HEK. SorrySoldOut could give you the textures themselves though but you'd have to compile them into tags yourself.

Oh, well thats not what I expected. I didn't even know about "texmod" till you mentioned it, thanks for the reply though.

Ill definitely have to ask him then. Compiling them is no problem, it's just making the textures that is. I cant photoshop for the life of me.

Anyway he probably wont release them though, not many modders release there stuff like that.

The "addition" of a text-mod would not affect the ability of your PC to blow up.

I think SPV3's got it's own texture work and custom stuff, so SSS'd have to make a whole new texmod project just for SPV3. I doubt he'll do that cause it's taken him long enough to do this one but that's for him to answer...

As awesome as this is, he is still limited by the original shaders and bitmap resolutions and tag properties. We have things planned, but this topic is about his mod, not ours. Regardless, he's done a stunning job with the limitations and it certainly is the best I've ever seen this game.

speaking of progress, school's starting and SSO has college I believe...and I assume that this mod is going to progress more slowly for now. Regardless of progress, just so long as this is finished one day, I'll be satisfied :)
