Isn't that the point though?
People do the same thing in Halo 3.
Plus, you can't shoot without zooming out on the 4x, so I still think it is useful to scan the map, as you said.

It just irks me how you can use normal binoculars to scan the map but not zoom in as much with a weapon which would be so much more effective if it had 4x zoom too.

I realized this, too, when looking at Halo 3 screenshots next to the CE remake ones. Don't worry, I'm working on better animation origins... video is on my xfire somewhere.

You should make new origins for CMT shotgun animations (which are better than the other crap ones) to look like Halo 3's origins

Actually, I'm modifying my modified BR animations for a modified shotgun already. If they look good I'll give them to jesse. If they look great I'll keep them for Valhalla.

I guess I'll stick with 4x. Halo 3's is equivalent to 5x but if you set 5x on CE, the camera tends to bounce. I'm also gonna get rid of the nasty convolution effect which is the blur.

Haven't done anything yet, I have tons of school work. I will get to it in the weekend. Assuming that the BSP won't be replaced, completion is at about 85 - 90 percent. If it will, well that's a large chunk.

so its been awhile since i been here, so it looks like this project is still going for improvements and plus the other maps like foundry,narrows and u know those h3 maps?

and im really liking what im seeing on those videos, looks like theres gonna be big upgrades!!!

Also, here's some eyecandy.

It's not much, but I don't know if you guys knew that I was using the new BR animations for the map. I also fixed the stuttering for the weapon and it shoots 3 shots and beautifully (Like CMT's)

Oh yeah, I meant to get around to that. The multi was white-ish on the spots for some odd reason. Will change to green.

that looks good.changed the health bar and ammo to glow green?instead of light blue in the previous pic by the looks of it ice,and lights on the Br.

red dots look a little strange tho or is it just me?

I didn't change the health\shields, it's just that Halo 1 doesn't support alpha opacity for meter elements, which makes them look horribly transparent.

I thought you meant the gun! The only things that can be "solid" are the outlines, but if i made it too opaque it would contrast hard with the meter.

LOL what tutorials? How to make a meter by Kirby? it was ok, but he gave nothing on how to use the right color values. Or how to edit the meter values in guerilla. or that the bitmaps had to be power of 2 (which took me a long time to figure out).

But to answer your question, no. I am like 95 percent self-taught.

I really want to. There are tons of technical things that I have become an expert at and those took a while to figure out on my own. I want to release a really long tutorial, but I was also thinking it could be in the form of its own thread. I post a really long tutorial, then see what the reaction is, then edit and add more. Then answer any specific questions.

What do you think of that?

I never really thought there was a demand. I'd guess that I'm one of the few that can actually make an entire hud and not get flamed for it. Since you really want that tutorial I'll get started on it but it will take a few days to get it together cause as I said, there are tons of things to learn.
