What about it, Bungie talked multiple times about how it used mo-cap for a lot of the animations. Everything that couldn't possibly be done in mo-cap was done manually, or it is an alteration to the mo-capped movements.

You were saying their first person was motion captured as well. What's your bull proof on that one?

The fact that bungie discussed how it had to make a "functional" version of the halo weapons to rig with sensor nodes to capture FP animations.

Mark Grigsby
Paul Messerly
Bruce Ferriz
Chance Glasco
Zach Volker
Lei Yang
Eric Pierce
Neel Kar
Cheng Lor

Before you say these people were in charge of motion capture, there's a separate list for mocap.

Separate list means animators actually did animating.

OK, so now explain to me:

Why do you need 8-9 animators, if all you're doing is motion capture? Sure, they could all be 'fixing them up' etc, but easily one or two of them (because I see two slightly different styles in the weapon animations in MW2) can also do first person animations which like I showed you with Broke, is very likely that they can do the animations by hand.

What ever movements they are unable to do in mo-cap, may be done manually or it can be an altered version of a mo-capped version, having one or two animators managing such animations would be inefficient. I'm sure you wouldn't want to be one of the two animators that has to handle over 3000 mo-capped animations. It would over work the animator, as well as be inefficient.

There's a Motion Capture lead and an Animation lead, both of them being separate people. Why have two different departments if the only purpose for the team of 9 animators is to fix the work from the motion capture department?

I said one to two could possibly have done the FP animations (because like I said, I can clearly see two different styles in the animations and having two people who are somewhat close in how they animate is not impossible).

There's still 8-9 animators, who have that as their job, and worked day in and perhaps even day out working on them.

I'm pretty sure they just reused lots of the animations from CoD4 as well? That means: less animations that need 'fixing up' and time to spend animating FP weapons.

He is just mad.

I don't think anyone would have pure motion capture alone, but they see the few animators they have as if they were doing all the animations with little mo-cap resources.

Fp animations, especially those of handling a gun, would be done in a similar way that bungie did it but they would probably use more accurate models of the gun. It would make sense since the animating parts of the gun are simple rotations and movements but for the sake of having the gun move physically accurate. And since in cod you never really see animations just jump from one to another, it is interpolated between them selves, which is used when motion capture actors are not required to go back into the position in which the animation interrupted.

The Revenant will be my favorite vehicle ever. I'm not even kidding. It's fast, powerful, can have a passenger (not just a gunner), and has a kickass effect attached to it.

Zira if someone post nasty comments about you or things that make you mad then don't post at all. If you do there will be a massive flame war between you and someone or a group of people.

In conclusion: Don't feed the flamers.

You and Hydrogen then had better learn the difference between a discussion and trolling. Unless you are going to comment on the topic you have absolutely no reason to interject these ridiculous comments and or statements. This is the trolling. This will get you banned. Comment on the subject or remain silent.

The difference between HCE, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Reach is that HCE is a computer modding game and not a console game. You can do things on HCE that you can't do on other stuff AND it's on a completely different platform.

Just because Reach may come out and you may have your eyes glued to the TV for a while, I seriously doubt you'll never touch a computer again aka the home of CE and us.

Then how do you expain this?

People have been predicting the death of the game since 2004 when Halo 2 was released. I admit I am still surprised at it's longevity and the fact that it gets more popular every year.

Summer seems to be a pretty popular time. I'm wondering what came out last year in July as well as this year's July as well...that made it jump up so high.

Edit: Added quote so people don't have to go back to previous page to see the graph.

Hmm. By the way you post, I'm guessing you also thought that MW2 was better than Halo when it came out...
