Ummm no. There have been rumors of that because of the new "revenant" vehicle, which literally looks like a red wraith, but a bit smaller. Only mongooses will be able to change color as of now. But we can hope right. :)

I think it was a spray and pray. And I'm pretty sure I did use it properly. Hell, the only reason I ever bothered picking it (and the MA5B) up in the was because Halo didn't have a gun which could be called an Assault Rifle until the 3rd game (in which I always use said AR over any other auto weapon whenever I go to my friend's place).
Just like H1's tanks, their inaccuracy means there isn't much difference between aiming 5 degrees off, and aiming accurately, because about half the shots will go stray and hit him despite your reticule missing him.
Dual-wielding them, is just even more spray and pray. And yeah, in HR there's no point in having a stupid spray and pray weapon which is less accurate than any other gun in any FPS. The AR is enough. And it was NOT a good sidearm weapon. Even the pistol was better because it could headshot and was more reliable. As for meleeing, all weapons are equal, except for the specialist melee weapons.
