Actualy, the reason they were on the Threshold station was because the Forerunners were keeping them there for scientific purposes.
If you watch the moving parts of the elevator on the level "Oracle" in Halo 2 you will see the elevator removing Flood stasis pods from the walls of the elevator shaft.

Those are not Flood stasis containers. They are storage containers, which are filled with flood biomass.

No. The Flood biomass being the infection pods. And not all of the containers blew up into a puff of green smoke. Some blew up properly. The Flood were using the explosive gas inside the containers the same way they do with the Grunts methane tank. Basically making it into a incubation chamber for infection forms.

W/o internet I'm getting crazy in time

So I just worked on random stuff since I didn't really felt like it, and most worse of all, i have a problem:
The collision geometry won't compile, and as you know, without collision it's only good for machinima. So, all 3 flood models here, don't have a collision, all the scenery etc. did work, but my collision for the models just won't compile. and that's a big problem.
So I'm going to upload the models, and send them to you lone, you can see if you can make one/let someone make a collision geometry for the flood perms. It just needs 1 for all perms attached, so that they can be destroyed. I did work on the textures, but it would be nice to know if the flood eventually is useable. I'll make the random perms method afterwards myself, this thing just needs a collision. blech long story for simple thing, collisions are stupid, new gen games use the original model as collision too, halo just needs its own model for collision v_v oh well.



One of the random things I did in the weekend.

Oh and, I now replaced every single model, scenery and vehicle (except the infection form) with new models, covenant turret looks fragile in h2 lol. But mythril, sorry to say this afterwards, but:



Yes this is the Halo 2 Banshee with all the acrobatic anims and boost, the orange is a warm cubemap, but you might wanna consider copying the flood biomass to this banshee.



New portable force fields/shields, random



I've come to the conclusion, that a permanent blur is cooler to look at. there are BSP restrictions to use the script fully, and secondly the lagspikes in the heat of battle are annoying. it's not that a computer is scrap, but you will notice a decrease of 2 or 3 fps when it blurs during battle, so that can be 10 or 15 for the older computers. Not that I'm saying we should make it compatible for low end comps, buy a decent computer, but it's annoying for the high specs too. there are too many active elements I'm using anyways.

Also lone, did you redo the AI placings? I think the ghosts arn't loaded with elites, i have to check my statement though.

I could post alot more pics, but it would make this post really long, so I'm going to send you the models tommorow too >.> goddamn short in time

for the rest, I could make a long review about the details of the map layout, but I'll film a partial walkthrough this afternoon, it's got the right feeling right now, and I'm saying that after playing the halo campaign on legendary several times =P

Also, I got the hologram pedestals done, and made an AI form of the gravemind, sort of brieving points or whatever.

I've written several scripts for the fancy looking things, however minor they are noticeable.

Meh, I had alot more stuff and updates to tell, but today isn't really the day with the most free time

Oh and, hurry up with the flood FP arms, as you can see I'm using my ODST FP models as placeholder. I don't care yet about the anims, they'll come later, but it needs some visual that i can work on, textures for FP arms are more detailled ya know =P so just get the model done and send that to me, i don't really need the FP animations right now per se
ok now I'm really in a hurry, the outline is redone and I'm redoing it for the 4th time to get it done right, the weapons are OK right now, most of it is replaced but not all yet, the vehicles are all replaced, i'll send the models of them wich need to be floodified, the flood models need a collision, the scenery is mostly done, and the HUD looks well for the rest.
half of the weapons got new effects, and i got the ammo crate.
i can't find the flood juggernaut model but heck it's a half pure form anyways so whatever i don't have to extract that one

Oh and I make new weather effects with new particles and I'm currently almost done with light dust enviroments, don't give opinions about that's lame cus you havn't seen it, wich I'm sure bo will do but whatever, I'm also done, but have to place, the enviromental volumetric lights, but i rlly g2g now bbl

All I can say is that your post/update is pure win, but a few things:

1) The banner with the names on it, two of those names I do not recognize, and its missing two names: L28, and Polamee.

2) I didn't know we were including a Halo 2 Banshee, let alone any Halo2 vehicles.

3)The Ai placing, elites with ghosts? The elites in ghosts I have no problmes with. One we give the Flood the ability to drive vehicles, it'll be easier.

4) The little things, sound good.

5) Flood fp anims, I'll ask L28 when I get around to it.

Note: Damn good job man, you getz a cookie.

Hah! I love the sign :) The shotgun position looks good, and the banshee looks like a halo 1/3 type.

Yes it's rigged by Malolo, sorry for not saying that earlier. The banner Model is from New Mombasa, I don't know the origin of it, neither the original author. Texture of the banshee is a direct rip from Halo 2, the banner texture was made by me, obviously, lol.
I didn't use any coagulation or so, as far as I know all of them are protected.
Oh and, the boost doesn't work, I'll have to make one again for the banshee, but the animations are fine. There are minor other things not originally by me, I'll try giving credit where needed.

here it goes: Bungie (H3 Concepts and Halo 2 stuff), Malolo (few rigs), Donut (SL won't make it to the final I think), CMT (Spiker neither I think, Ranger animations/bones for bugger), H3MT (Placeholder FP animations for the PR and PP, untill ours are done), Crytek (Yes a few terrain textures), and ofcourse this team.

Oh and Lone, I didn't really thought of discussing it sorry, but I replaced ALL vehicles with Halo 2 vehicles, aswell as every biped, and half of the textures of the BSP's. if you want to use original models that's fine too, though I thought it was better to take the initiative =P

I redid the Halo 2 marines, this time with full armor packs, it looks like this right now:

Exclude the compack, it just looks like some warthog with it, so i removed it =P
Finished it this morning so I didn't have the time to post pics in action, will do so tommorow

Also, I've figured several things out when I was rigging at random, lots of stuff I discovered that makes it correct and easier =P it paid off to do random stuff lol

I think I can make the collision myself, still working on it, will post pics of correct rigs soon.

Oh also, I re-rigged the shielded flood model and gave it elite bones, so that it can throw grenades and ride vehicles.

Oh and, I also was working on multipurpose maps, since Halo 2 doesn't got those, I have to make them manually, they don't look pretty in H1 without them either =P
No, before people go like "omg noob just make bump maps blue" That's what Malolo did, and they didn't work out well, so I'm making new ones based on the diffuse map, in the bumped regions, and fiddle some with the colour channels to add alpha where needed etc.

Well not much for this post today, but I've got 3 exams to attend this week =P

Lastly, lone, I don't know why the elites arn't there, they arn't even spawned next to the ghosts, wich is usually the case when the driver seat is incompatible, so that's kinda weird, the h2 wraiths are correct though.

Almost done with the H2 Plasma Turret, it just needs to be rigged and anims, I'll look into that later though, it's in as scenery now.

oh really lastly, I got the scenery moveable, but by making them vehicles. so half of the scenery is now moveable, and I just placed storage boxes in the way for teh lulz =P
I edited the texture of the boxes to make it like Halo 3, it wasn't that hard since H3 uses the exact same model used in H2, so all I had to do was modifie the colours

Might include this, simple but could be fun as you're a flood anyways

About the no changes to BSP's, didn't BP said he ripped the flood biomass from h2, and made it scenery (which he would release in a pack later)? Won't the BSP's be updated with that?

Hi.
I made that really roughly, ignore the skin edit. I actually bothered to make my own "biomass" instead of rip off the carrier form. I just unwrapped it to the carrier texture.

Halo 2 is newer, higher poly, and the overal quality is better, my idea was to replace everything with h2 stuff, some h3 stuff, and replace the eventual h2 stuff etc with custom content where needed. my opinion is that halo 2 is better than halo 1, in everything, correct me if i'm wrong. whatever doesn't fit in this campaign, will ofcourse not be converted.

my only update for now is this marine that i rigged correctly, long time since i did one correct hah



grades are back ontopic again, so expect less updates...

Halo 2 Marines are overall fugly :V, they barely have any armor, and it blends in with the normal clothing.
