Doesn't make them more fun to animate.

Edit: Oh lol, I posted 3 posts after the post I wanted to respond to.

The version I have currently is a re-done version. And I'm still not fully happy with it, chances are, I'm gonna over-haul certain sections, or even get rid of it all depending on when those bsp edits are done.

So like right now it's mainly a go over and polish stage? change mistakes or stuff that can be better?

does that mean it may be out in the next month or weeks?

It's more like a "show off one level and proclaim it's super duper awesome while secretly fret about all the other levels" phase.

That's what you think. *smirks* I'm waiting on Delta, then we can get the 2nd level in.

Wrong.

Depends on which level you're talking about. Over-all, no, we're nowhere near completion, but thats what happens when there's 1 populator doing all the population and scripting work, 1 and a half animators, and BP doing the rest. Which I am extremely grateful for.

As for levels individually, ALongSleep, as POQ Brute said, just needs alot of refinement and more work done.

StKft needs 2 more bsp's finished, and then more refinement.

And on-top of those two, we still need to add in the other bsp's.

If everyone contributed at least 65% of their efforts into this, I'd expect it to be done in 3 weeks tops.

I'm currently contributing 0.01% of my efforts. That's assuming that answering Lone's questions counts.

Currently contributing 1000 times more than Gamma. I.e 10%

In all honesty I don't think anyone is working more than 30%, and thats because of a combination of school, and other things. Other things being laziness, e.g Gamma.

Dude Cocaine...

That's a Naw
More like a confidence thing... you know how in football your sittin on the side while offense is on and your yelling get that first down, let's go, etc. it's the same concept.... I wouldn't be telling the offense how to do their job then unless i said go cut the backer or pull on the end or something :p

Oh, and I dislike the origins I set for my flood pistol. If someone sets up origins for me, I'll animate it.

dude really, im modelling the airshafts right now, i dont see you doing a jack other than saying "you'll see" "just wait" or "i've got something up my sleeve" while i dont get to hear sht from you >.>

if you want to protect the content of maps, then make content. there is not much to protect right now, and hell, i think we already have enough methods to protect, gamma and i were one of the first ones coming with the new added layer of protection, the only new method would be not to release it at all: but that didn't work either, look at cmt lulz

seriously though, i don't like it one bit that you're just being mister mysterio in this topic without doing actual work at all.
actually, im not even sure of what you're capable of, other than minor coding that everyone could do.

i know that lone wanted me to get along with you, but i cannot vent it otherwise that i dont see you do jack other than posting, and no, collecting tags other people make is not a job.

Didn't we agree a long time ago, that this will be all opensource? that's what we agreed on, i support open source

If we use Open Sauce, then the stuff inside won't be Open Sourced.

So is this "open source" you call it custom made for the Halo CE system or was it completely hacked? And is this finished being open sourced yet? I heard something about open source on how its impossible to open source the BLAM! engine, but was possible to create one, but would require tons of work and skill.

Open Source = unprotected maps
Open Sauce = external dll that modifies how the Halo engine reads maps

Ah i see, I was wondering what people are meaning with this "open source" business. So is he meaning to have the map campaign unprotected or does he want to modify the game engine to have extra things that people can't normally put in Halo CE?

Open sauce was designed to enable new features in the engine, create new tag types, etc. The protection is merely a side effect.

OS Has nothing about protection in it. Sure, you can't open the maps from hek+ but that's not a problem... If you're a good hax0r. But 90% of the rippers on this site wouldn't be able to get anything out of a map from hek+ if it weren't, oh, idk.... possible to be opened from hek+.

If we're going to Open Source everything we should just upload the tags themselves so people don't have to download all of the maps.

[15:32] dÆd: k. I'm going to try compiling the maps with Open Sauce and see if that'll help the map sizes etc at all.
[15:32] Lone Warrior: Ok

:/ That wasn't a commitment, but imho the benefit of map size is completely worth it.

I'll work on it this week. Promise! xD

In a nutshell, no, as of now, we're not using OS. However, later on, it may become necessary. I.e if we need it to increase tag limit size, or lower map file size.
