Not sure. It looks different and your able to tell the difference in-game. WMP_Dismal has no author, so this AR may stay.

Nice work Grunt.

Update on the Mod:

- The AR crosshair seen before will stay the same. The AR is staying too.

- After you adjust to the pace of the AI they become as routine as if they were normal Halo AI. Thankfully, there will be more weapons to use throughout the mod to help you fight them. That is a guarantee, like the inclusion of the beloved Covenant Carbine.

- Hunter Actor Variants are paired based on whether they are Major or Minor. Majors are going to be black with Blue Cannons that cause serious damage and Minors are normal with normal cannons (subject to change).

- Now look below for something that you will see to replace the hog in some areas:


The mongoose will appear in the mod. Depending when Matooba releases his mongoose, you may see that, but as of now we have this mongoose. In the future, you'll have Matooba's goose or this one with the ability to use weapons.

- The next feature is for the grunts; A new H3-styled needler.



It's pretty affective and can take down enemies quickly, but also knock down your shields while the elites finish the encounter. They're vicious *******s I tell ya.lol.

Well, I believe that is it for the updates. Some stuff in the mod is still being tested and questioned whether it should stay in the mod. However, I'm no where near done yet. The Precision Carbine (previously known as the Assault Carbine) is being remodeled. Once that is done, I'll tie up some looser ends on the mod, like finishing skies and maybe a different HUD. There are still many things no one has seen or experienced yet, like the Flood, but there will continue to be updates and pics placed in where I think they can be shown.

Now, to rap this up I want to clarify something: You don't have to wait on me to ask you for a certain tag or something in the mod; you can make suggestions on what you want to see in this mod. It's a Community Mod, me compiling a lot of the tags from my stumblings through the community, and putting them into the Original Halo where I see fit. If you have any suggestions or tags that you would like to see in the mod, please tell me so I can see if they would work.

Tags that won't work or be accepted:
- Nukes (ES MUY STUPIDO EN HALO DE ORGINAL)
- Weapons that don't look Halo-like (alright, the deal is I want to keep this somewhat related to Halo, so if it's an AK47 it won't be accepted. However, you can still show me a picture of whatever it is and I'll see if it could be put in.)
- Vehicles that aren't Halo-like or city-like. They have to be all-terrain.
- Bipeds that are not related to Halo.

Tags that can be really appreciated right now:
- Covenant Scenery and maybe new vehicles.
- New Plasma Pistol, Plasma Rifle, Shotgun, Rocket Launcher (unique), Human Pistol, and any other unique weaponry.
- New Encounters (new AI, Flood Bipeds, etc.)
- Fuel Rod Cannon (H2/H3, I have the model, but sound tags are fugly)
- New Vehicles in general.
- More Stuff will be updated next time.

If you have any input at all, I'd be glad to hear, just remember to post under the forum rules and please no GIFs or offtopic questions. Thank you.

Haha, sorry Bo, I was going to include credits towards the end, but Advancebo created the needler reticle you see above. After some more tests, it works very well. Thanks for the reticle Bo, I suck at making reticles. No, I never said the needler reticle was mine, I just got it in-game to show in a pic. Bo did the reticle and helped with HUD interface. And yes, if you see any new reticles they will probably from Advancebo. I suppose I should make a list of those I thank right now, so nobody gets the wrong idea:
-Advancebo
-DarkZealot
-TCEM Grunt
-The makers of WMP Dismal, Jangle, and other maps that will be mentioned in credits.
-Hdoan&company for the rigged H2 Bipeds.
-MANY MORE THAT WOULD TAKE FOREVER TO THANK.

Of course, this is subject to change in both additions and subtractions.

Oshi you're exactly right. I also think the H2 HUD is too BLAH in my opinion and the original owns it on HaloCE.

Written Update:
AotCR - You've seen more pics. The large battles you have are enjoyable and not too challenging AS OF NOW. That will most likely change before the release of the mod. It would be Epic if the blasted marines didn't jump out of the *Censored.* I really wish the mongoose would allow a passenger seat or weapons usable aboard.

Jackle Majors - Now have a newer weapon. They could still use tuning up regardless.

Hunter Majors - Still can't change to black. That's part of the bug report this time around.

Flood - Are evil and scary when you have neither a secondary weapon, Ma5c, Spiker, Covy Carbine, Fuel Rod, or anything that guarantees their destruction. All I can say is gerr....

Two Betrayals - is not done yet. Any pics now are just for fun. It's hard. I had to quit half-way through to save my sanity and time to play the level Keyes.

Shotgun- is same-old same-old. Someone please contact me about a new Halo shotgun.

Fuel Rod Grunts - Are evil in Two Betrayals right now.

Spikers and Covy Carbine- Can kill Banshees in less than a clip. Must make Banshees more durable.

Report Al La Bug (That's short for Bug Report):
-Two things.

#1.) One is about my Hunter Changing to Black. I was pretty sure all you had to do was go to Change Colors and select black. Tell me if there is anything more to do.

#2.) Two is about 343 Guilty Spark having video camera issues....

How do I do to fix this?

Update is over. Check the front page after each update for percentage updates on the mod.

Because I joined of this team, though a somewhat quiet member... well...

Something:



Blood Gulch is a size reference for everyone else to see, and nothing more than that.
As of that image, its 4.2k tris, vertex modeled.

When I get enough done (start on the cliffs after making the river part) I will hand the model to gruntfromhalo to help out because this is going along VERY slowly with my procrastination methods.


One of the main problems is that I screwed up with the shores big time (The part I am modeling is the riverbed and the shores are crap). Too low poly for my needs. So I resorted to tesselating those shores. I will be fixing them after I get the riverbed done.

You need to do the multipurpose bitmap for it.

EDIT: As you were - in the Hunter's shaders, set the change color source to A, B, C, or D - doesn't matter. Pick C, it's the easiest - set up the color exactly as it is on the cyborg_mp biped. There are other ways to do that (only means using different letters), but that is easiest to work with if you've never done it before. On C, set up a color permutation, make it black (you said you wanted a black Hunter, right?) and you're set to go.

Forerunner Shaft is nearly complete. The new HUD is the Halo 2 one. I can't give you any Elite MP V3 anims yet, because they aren't complete.

Some facts:
Map Size: 100 MB
Encounters: 2
Command Lists: 4
Easter Eggs: 4
Secret Weapons: 2

In case you're wondering, the Encounters are the AI scenery - the Sentinels that roam around the map. And the other is for the other Easter Egg.

Update:

The Gladiator is getting adjustments. It's easy to say I'm still finding a unique weapon for it. Sorry Clad, but the Fist of Rukt sends me flying halfway across the map, so that won't be used. However, there are ideas in the making. I just got back and I'll show what I have later on this development.

The Elite Ultras are killer. They are very strong both defensive and offensively. Oh, and btw, I played them on Easy. What does this mean? More options will be implemented. The Flood love their new Fuel Rod. Even Ultras can find it hard to defeat them. I was walking into a cave in c40, and I see the flood move in-mass with fuel rod cannons on their shoulders and by the time I got away I was practically dead AND i was pinned by the gladiator. In the last build, the Flood were able to defeat the gladiator before you reached it. This won't happen in the future.

The Flamethrower is useless against anything but infection forms. This may be changed and if not it will be excluded. There are also places where there will be more ammo and items to help you get by. The Coldsnap sniper has become of great use. It can defeat any enemy. Ultras can survive up to three hits, while Hunters can take up to 5+ shots, unless you hit it in the back. The normal sniper will be put in in cases where the Coldsnap one is not and vice-versa.

Bug Report
The Banshee sucks. It can't take a spiker. I NEED to change this.

The mod isn't done yet, but it is getting closer. As school is only a week away from me, the deadline approaches just as fast. I can't say when this will be done, but as of now, the pendings and additional content are taking the most time. I hope this is finished in the next month or two.

In means of an update I have no pics (BOOOOO!), but in the end, it is still informative:

- The mod may be greatly delayed. My school starts in two days. Fear not though, the mod will still be done. I've actually slacked off for the past few days and have still gotten plenty done on c40. I hope I'll be able to finish PoA today if anything.

- C40 has been getting nothing but love these past few days. I can now feel epic when walking through the fields of the snow and dead bipeds, as I'm about to fight a pair of hunters. It's clear for one thing....the Covenant and the Flood are virtually equal now. The Ultras are quite an enemy, being able to dodge, shoot, and stay in cover all at the same time. The only Ultras that don't scare me are the ones equipped with energy swords. Why? Because anything else will shoot you to ribbons.

- I've simply been thinking of good ideas to be in the mod. The Flood are easily recognizable for being the unstoppable parasite they are and the Covenant are no longer a joke that you can laugh at in pity. I am mainly missing the exact right elements I need. Example: the final run on the Maw. I had put a goose, troophog, and spectre as driving vehicles. The goose was too fast and out of control, the troophog was too slow, and the spectre was simply too fast in a weird way. The Goose was the only one that officially made it to the end of the game, through laughs and some mild cursing. All I can say is, physics are loopy, I need some good Mongeese and vehicles.

- The Shotgun has inherited a trait from another game. Those who have played Bioshock and have equipped that shotgun with the largest update would understand what I am talking about. I have used the feature many times, especially in hordes of flood. But with great power comes great consumptions of ammo, so you'll have to scrounge for ammo as you go throughout the levels. If anyone doubts the Shotgun's new characteristic, try playing against the enemy I do with the normal one and see how quick it takes to get angry. I am of course, talking about the Covenant and all Flood. Try and keep in mind too, that larger enemies need to be hit by more to be defeated. Without this new feature, some fights would be nearly impossible to win. Anyways, moving along to the next subject.

- Hopefully, ya'll be better at normal than me, because Heroic is almost damn near impossible and that was simply the first two beginning sequences of a30. I don't want to say much else.

- I am running out of Maxes. Gmax died, 3ds 7/8 trial expired and I'm down to 6 and 5 trials. The point being, I may not have enough time to redo the Precision Carbine, so don't be surprised if it stays as is OR is replaced by another weapon.

- The Flood are learning to use weapons to great efficiency, especially the Covy Carbine and Fuel Rod. The Covenant are also a pain with those weapons, so it's not like you'll be "safe" the first half of the game.

Questions:
- WILL THERE BE CMT BRUTES???????

Bug Report:
- 343 GS's Marine Tape cutscene is basically a black screen. Help on this would be appreciated.

- In PoA, when you open the door where an elite is rawring at you for the first time, I get an exception. Would that be due to me changing the model to an H2 one?

I have good news and bad news concerning my map.

Bad news:
I am having a problem: recently my CD drive and USB ports died.
The Tech support guys are having a real headache over my computer =]
They are trying to see if it is a software problem, but I really DO know that it's most likely a hardware problem.

More bad news:
But that has also resulted in my having to nuke my hard drive via system restore...

So some of my tags... all of them... except ones I chose to keep (ALL CUBEMAPS OF MINE, shader work on some bipeds, etc.) are going to be wiped out.

Good news: My announced project will be perfectly intact as I have backed it up online and protected it with a random-letters-and-numbers password. :)

Hopefully after I get this issue resolved, I can get back to modeling, but I wonder what will happen when the tech support guys decide they have to crack the computer open themselves.

That's good to know. As for me, there are some updates on a campaign TCEM Grunt and I (and a few other members) are doing:

-A50: Believe me, if you didn't like the level before you probably are gonna hate what I gave the Zealots (Gold Elites). I have added (via scripting) a shield (Jackal type) to the other hand of the Zealot, and others an extra sword that hurts a lot. Good news? They are only on Legendary. Bad news is the shield ones are on all difficulties.

-B40: Introduction of the Elite Drop Pods. When you get on the ground, 3 or 6 drop pods (depending on difficulty) will be deployed. The only threat is if you happen to stand RIGHT under the pod as it's dropping... which I doubt you're doing. At least I HOPE. Near the control room you'll fight a nightmare. It's a Scarab, and I have AI driving it somewhat smartly.

-C20: Worst level of all in the Halo games. Our version removes some of the more powerful Flood (Rocket and some shotguns) and replaces with other Flood variants. Not to say that you aren't gonna find one with a rocket and shotgun, because you will.

-C40: Yay! Fun level here. First, you face a GIANT (I mean GIANT) Sentinel after Spark teleports. Think of it like a boss battle. On easy, you won't have a problem, but Legendary... maybe. I also introduce "Flood Elites with Swords" here. It's best to take these out quick, or else they can kill you.

I like the idea of Zealots with shields, as elites having shields was in one of Bungie's concepts for the elite.
