Originality or Rip- both mapping types. The funny thing about ripping is that it is a quicker way to produce what you want. Many don't approve though; they believe ripping is wrong and that pride should be from custom-made content.

Now we move to the mapping team known as Zteam. They rip from the game of Halo2. There is hardly any opposition towards them ripping from this classic game. But then we have a new mapping team; they want to rip from another game, such as CoD4. Many people greatly oppose them, saying ripping is completely wrong. What is the different? Both teams are ultimately equal-ripping from another game to have CE content. What respect should there be for one team more than the other? So I ask again, what is the difference?

Next we move onto copyright. Ripping teams obviously rip the creators' content from the game, meaning it is not theirs. However, that doesn't mean it's illegal. Selling the content for profit is illegal, only in that distribution is it. That ends that policy.

My question is this: is ripping bad? If a lot of people hate it, then why can some easily get away with it? What allows one to have more respect with ripping from a game than another who does the same? Isn't it equally the same effect? Why is there inequality here? Isn't it just the same? I suppose it is merely provoked by boredom.

no one gets respect from ripping from a new game, it makes the game look bad and ruins its reputation

I'm preparing things for a massive update soon. You'll hear PLENTY of new stuff. Just thought I would bring this up again. There should be a new poll at the TCEM forums btw.

And when people whine just tell them that you dont care about their opinions and you are doing this for fun.

Amen to that too. A lot of the bipeds are rips I'm afraid, but the good thing about rips is the reassurance that the models were done well (by the company who made them) before you use them.

maybe since u unwrapped CAD AR, you can get it custom textured

Meh looks pretty good. All ARs look kinda the same to me with the exception of cmt's and h3mt's.

Though I would prefer to see custom content as well, I would like to see an ingame pic of the H3 skin first. I want to know if it actually looks very good in CE.

You're actually just seeing stuff. It is lower in polies than you might think. FLoyd is a much better modeler now.

I agree. Looking at the two, CADs has so many unneeded pollies involved.
