I'm back to remind you this is not dead, nor on hold. We've been busy with getting bipeds rigged and permutations finished and getting things ingame.

Major changes since the last update, it's weird to see how old those pictures are.

Remember my E-11 blaster? You know, the Stormtrooper rifle? This one?

It is now ingame, but not fully animated/textured. It is functional, however.

New grenades are ingame:
Concussion Grenade:
A grenade which, when it goes off, causes your screen to shake and for you to be stunned for a little bit, depending on the proximity of the explosion. It will only kill you if you are within it's tiny blast radius. Also sends out an EMP pulse which would have a major effect if I haven't replaced MC's biped with a shieldless Stormtrooper.
Thermal Detonator:
A magnetic grenade, it will stick to anything containing a large amount of metal and wiring (In other words, vehicles). This grenade is far more deadly than a concussion grenade, but is primarily designed for anti-vehicle use. Finding a grenade cache of Thermal Detonators is rare when you are playing a map which doesn't have vehicles.
The effects for the Concussion Grenade are finished, but the model and effects of the Thermal Detonator still need to be changed.

The Tantive IV map has received a graphical overhaul to better represent how it is seen in the movies. Currently, there are 3 player-accessible decks:
Deck 1:
Airlock/Imperial Entryway and Spawn
Rebel bunks (Male and Female)
Captain's Quarters
Ambassador's Quarters
Escape pods
Engine Monitoring station

Deck 2:
Bridge/Rebel Spawn
Engine core
Hyperdrive monitoring station
Emergency Escape pod access bay (Semi-circumnavigates the deck, seen in previous screenshot)
Communications station
Armory
Shield monitoring station
Briefing\War Room
Library

Deck 3:
Weapons Systems/Targeting Systems
Shield Generator/Hyperdrive Core/Computer power substation/Sensor power substation
Main computer room/Main sensor room
Droid maintenance room

The primary fighting will be on deck 2, by far the largest deck. Since elevators have trouble with lag, I am going to stick with ladders to access the different decks for now.

The Tantive IV now rests inside the Imperial I-class Star Destroyer Devastator's docking bay, rather than sitting in space as it was previously.

Placeholder bitmaps are being replaced with non-placeholder ones as an alpha test release draws ever closer.

Hopefully, the end result should look like this:


I think that about covers it with the updates. Expect new screenshots soon!

EDIT: I decided to make a video showcasing the changes in a Blood Gulch test variant. I would use the Tantive IV if lightmaps hadn't just screwed the entire map up and made it so the light blinds everyone... I'm going to go into Kornman00, change the lighting power down some, then showcase the changes on BG for now and run lightmaps after I'm done making the video.

Nothing wrong with liking Lego Star Wars, it's one of my favorite games. In fact, the Tantive IV floor is actually a slightly Photoshopped portion of the Lego Star Wars II Tantive IV floor.

NOTES:
Yes, that is a SWMT Alpha "Death Star Assault" UI.
This is Deck 2 of the Tantive IV.
Due to a bug I've encountered, I'm using regular marine GBX models right now rather than my Rebels/Stormies.
The AI and bipeds are for weapons testing only. They will not appear in the final product.
The A280 Assault Rifle needs a total overhaul. I messed up on a couple things, and, as a result, it "borrows" the E-11's model and shoots off-target, not to mention it overheats too quickly and needs a smaller clip.
FP model on E-11 does not show up ingame, I'm too lazy to fix at the moment.
The walls are untextured still, and each screen will have individual readouts rather than the BSOD which I put in there as a joke.
Bail Organa had just moved in as of the time of the video, and, as such, most of the chairs and other furniture are not in place as of yet.
The walls are a bit... Bright. But that's why it's still an alpha.

Actually, there are going to be Stormtrooper bipeds... But they won't be red and blue. The stormies will be white, and I'm going to use biped permutations (Similar to those found in the H3 backpack weapons bipeds on this site) to make Blue team Stormtroopers and Red team Rebels. A last-second bug with that biped kept them from being demonstrated with the rest of the map.

I must admit, i expected the AT-AT to be alot larger ingame; Ive already seen the comparison images you showed with a warthog and all; but to me it feels like it should still be x2 the size that it was viewed in the image of it in sidewinder

It's movie-accurate, 106.9281 feet tall, which translates to 1069.281 Max units. It actually stretches higher than the Sidewinder cliffs and is huge ingame.
I think the size is fine.

I am aware of the crappy engine in the rear and the bad wing pylon smoothing, but those are easy fixes.

Reference:

Used by the Empire as a defoliant/riot control device.
In other words, a flamethrower which turns Rebellions into barbecue.


(Nasty smoothing error near the front of that bottom shot on the fugly thing, I know.)

You should make the hoth level like that of star wars battlefront 1+2 i loved that version of hoth for its was also to the movie version. Also why not make it so you could walk inside of the AT-AT instead of falling out? It is possible.

I'd rather work off of a 27 inch than a 4 inch screen. I'm going to model, not rip, the maps from other games and a few that we invent. Like I said I would rather model off of a TV than a 4 inch Psp screen. It's much easier.

Also, update on the Flamer:
The scope thing isn't going to a scope. It's a flamethrower, why would it have a scope? I decided to make it a HUD readout instead, similar to the one found on the Assault Rifle. I'm using R2-D2-esque holograms to achieve a "Star Wars" effect.

How is it possible?

If I am correct it is possible to do so, as it has been done with the longsword. I don't know the exact details but what I do know is that you attach a device to the vehicle which acts as an invisible layer in the interior of the AT-AT. This layer should just be sligtly above the floor and curved upwards around the edges. This would prevent players from falling out of the vehicle while its moving, and as it moves quite slowly and doesn't exceed a 45 degrees angle, the players inside would be able to move safely.

To ensure that the players definitely do not fall out, you could make the layer cover the whole of the interior of the vehicle, including the walls and ceiling. A disadvantage of this however is the fact that the players inside will not be able to be damaged by outside fire because of this device, though the vehicle driver still will.
