Actually... Much, much, MUCH longer than a month.
The month would be getting a basic map ingame.
Then you have to perfect that basic map, getting the weapons spawns and everything just right, balancing everything.
Each weapon can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to make and texture. Then it takes a couple more days and many, many revisions to get the animations right.
Each vehicle can take between a few weeks and a few months from start to finish, depending on the size of the vehicle and the complexity of its movements. You have to begin with the 3D model, then you texture it, tag it, animate it, and then make a collision model.
It helps if you get the weapons and vehicles done and balanced first when working on a map, actually. Then you can get the sizing of everything right and it just makes everything look much, much better.

The list of what to do:
1. Make vehicles (Avg. is a couple weeks to get a vehicle ingame, but balancing can take a bit)
2. Texture vehicles
3. Animate vehicles
4. Make weapons (Avg. is the same as the vehicles, mostly)
5. Texture weapons
6. Animate weapons
7. Concept art for the map (Simple hour or two in MS paint)
8. Model the map (Can take weeks)
9. Scrap previous model of the map in favor of a more balanced version
10. Model map again
11. Texture map
12. Radiosity (Depending on the size of the map, it can take from a day to 3 days)
13. Place lighting if needed
14. Radiosity if needed
15. Work on any special scenery
16. Place and position special scenery (Doors, etc.)
17. Test
18. Balance
19.Test
20. Repeat from step 17.

How many people do you have working with you?

I have quite a few friends I can call upon from time to time to help me out.

And we may make some maps from Republic Commando... I beat that game so long ago, I barely remember it. I'll have to dust it off and look at the maps once more.

Lol, ewok AI's fighting a bunch of heavy mech destroyers...wait...that is what they are called in the PC RTS ensemble studios made...ahh, what is it called? In the AT family, I know...

Ensemble Studios did not make a Star Wars RTS, you are thinking of Petroglyph Studios, makers of the game Star Wars: Empire at War, the very first game I ever did any development on mapping-wise, back when it first came out. Then I moved on to Halo CE after playing one game on Yoyorast and another on Blood Gulch on a friend's computer.

I'm pretty sure Ensemble didn't make a Star Wars RTS.

You could have used self illumination in the material editor to make the bulb glow

Makes the entire model light up way too much.

Anyway, it's ingame now for beta testing. The bitmaps are placeholder, but it is ingame.

Here's an older screenshot, smoke and sparks have been added with the lightmaps adjusted to match the movie a little bit more, but it is ingame.
