it's actually 2 that were added. i subdivided the phantom bsp chase into two things since we already did it for the interior. they were promoted to official tasks, as silicon has been doing his final passes at the bsp and they're the main target of said passes. i have clarified this now.

As long as we have the finished product at some point, I'm happy. No point in rushing out a half-baked mod.

Lets just say I've been around the forums and never actually created account since I found out about the site in 2005 only because back then, I was just in it for the maps, so 2 weeks ago I decided I would create an account on my birthday, so there you have it. The backstory of a backstory that was made into a short backstory.)

i am working on hunter stuff today. spent the morning culling some data to be sure we have room for it all! now i'm rigging the model + setting things up tag-side so that when the textures are done we can just drop them in and go.

today's data culling ended up dropping ~0.6MB of tagspace to try and secure the future of those final upcoming content additions. (we're coming up against tagspace limits even with OS' memory upgrades). i try to do a purge of unused / unnecessary content every week so that the others can keep things moving. every time i do it i think "yeah, this should be good enough to make it to release" but it never is...

meanwhile, silicon and ifafudafi are spending today working on rendering and debugging DLMs respectively.

ifafudafi spent last week buckling down on the last minor bugs in the map. we're working on getting that gameplay-final release candidate out to our testers this weekend.

Lightmaps are looking super cool when they work correctly, but we have multiple layers of tech filtering together into a zombie game engine. As a result there are some issues I'm looking into today while trying to get the remaining bsps fully lit.

I just realized something. I have been a PC Gamer since 2011. I think I have been waiting for both this and SPV3 for about as long as I have been a PC Gamer. Most other mods I would of lost interest in by now, had they taken this long to develope. But, TSC:E and SPV3 have both somehow managed to keep my interest for all of these years.

yeah, it was the summer 2006 set of cmt single player maps. they're first entries in the "cmt single player maps" section on the main site here.

They pick their testers. Asking to be a tester almost certainly guarantees you aren't chosen, last I heard. Besides, they need to make sure whoever they pick won't just take the game and play it instead of looking for bugs.

Honestly, I don't even know why you guys would want to test this, besides your impatience.

Watching the SPV3 stream, while interesting, really brought home the fact that you can only mod a game so much before it gets boring.

But B30:E, that's an entirely new bsp, an entirely new experience. Why ruin that experience with an unfinished product?

The stream did get boring after a while, but to me that was just because the player insisted on using the same two or three weapons over and over again instead of branching out to handle different encounters. He didn't play SPV3 how it was meant to be played.

I mostly share this opinion, I can't help but feel SPv3 is mostly just a tag-display, and B30:E is where the real effort is focused.

But it's definitely good to have your map fully tested by those willing to sacrifice that "perfect" first experience to hunt down bugs and polish everything.
