Ah yeah. I also found the documentation on certain topics quite lacking. I assume you get that stuff taught to you when you partner up. Unreal has much much better documentation imo.

Cryengine is in a nutshell more akin to microsoft.

Unreal is the exception to this, genuine friendly community heck I even got to talk to the director of gears 1.

There has been a small amount of resurgence in interest for games that have genuine difficulty(difficulty stemming from skill ceiling, not poor game-design) especially in the indie scene. But some in AAA titles too like the well regarded 'Souls' series by From and such.

But yea, I was happy to see that I couldn't simply run and gun and end up at the end of the game my first time through.
