If you have any recommendations for music that I should use for future videos, please let me know. I practically like all forms of music.

Anything that isn't rap, hip-hop, reguetton, crunk or in that zone. Some metal, rock, techno, punk, jazz, classical, blues, opera would be good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMSK9FMAvls https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yK7lHB2WuQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYh3k0SxdIY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bty4-TgBV9I https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8NS7Zuh9YI The map still looks good btw.

Only crit I have:
-Windows look too blue in contrast to the rest of the map -Lighting seems a little washed-out, could use a little more contrast (those white lights on the ceilings everywhere really flood the hallways, reduce the power mb? - unless this is what you're going for) I was going to redo the windows. Lighting was temp, I'll try to use Aether.

It's annoying when your exact portals say that an area is not 'defined' when you closed off a room with exact portals. I only get the area when blocking out the bases/central areas with a lot of entrances/windows. I'll see how it all renders in sapien. It does say that it divided the level into clusters. If it occludes like it should, then I'll stick with it.

For your exactportals:
- Make sure that the planes defining a closed area all have their normals facing either inwards or outwards, and not a mix of both.
- Also, recall that exactportal planes, unlike regular portals, need to seamlessly seal off an area (i.e.: if you are placing an exactportal in the doorway, select your BSP object, convert to editable mesh, create a poly using the vertices at the 4 corners of your doorway, select that poly > detach, rename and apply exactportal material).
- Start with one area, then work your way out, keeping track of which way the normals are facing (I found this to be easier when NOT working your way out from the middle of the map, but rather from one side to the other).
- Regular old portals should be used to further subdivide clusters defined by exactportals (i.e.: high-poly rooms).
PM me if you need help, or add me on Xfire: killdill101 (though I'm not online as often as I'd like to be...). Edited by stunt_man on Jul 7, 2014 at 03:54 PM

I never really portal'd before. I was importing stock bsps to see how they did their portals. I'll be sure to see if my portal planes are faced the right direction.

Try not to put copyrighted music in your videos as YouTube tends to not like it and takes down those channels/gives strikes whether you gave credit to the owner or not.

If your talking about my channel. My F'ing gf wouldn't stop playing music in the background. And I had set fraps to use my pc's microphone thing. Technically, it wasn't even embedded into the video, it was just sound playing in the background. Anyway, how is portalling going? BTW most maps below -9000 tris don't really require it.

Either way, it doesnt always remove the video, in most cases it just limits the syndication.

Really? The worst that's happened to me was they put an ad at the beginning. Well you're lucky. You have to be REAALL careful with what you put in your videos. Unlike anyone ever I actually read threw the copyright part of the TOS. Anyway, I see channels get taken down all the time for the use of copyrighted material in their videos. YouTube said themselves that giving credit to the original owner does not give you permission to use it. You have to have written permission (pfft good luck with that though lol.) Either way, it doesnt always remove the video, in most cases it just limits the syndication. Either way it's still against the TOS and spam404 kinda have been also clearing things up ie taking down channels. Anyway, I was just saying it as kinda a warning to be careful as YouTube will take action if you abuse their TOS on multiple levels. I don't like seeing channels get taken down for putting music they like in their videos. Edited by TailsTheGamer on Jul 8, 2014 at 02:47 PM

Ok. Lets layoff the copyright laws for the time being. This thread is about Gridiron, not music. If they happen to take down the gameplay videos, I'll re-upload them without music. It's no big deal.

Redoing the skybox. I'm gonna make it similar to what Higuy suggested. It would be cool anyways, there are not a lot of lava themed maps.

If you need help with lava fx, such as rising steam or even moving lava I could look in to it.
The steam wouldn't take longer than a day, not sure about the lava.
