~UPDATES, PLEASE READ SO YOU GET THE FULL CONCEPT OF THE SKY MODEL AND YOU AVOID UNNECESSARY QUESTIONS :-)~ Here is the sky.... well, at least half of it as i still have to add change and fix some things First of all... the background color that looks like a distorted bluish metal panel is the unmapped model of the shield world's interior I still have to add scattered clouds above in the sky as well as some other details to make it look pretty :3 hope you like it :D This is blue base's side, i still have to add the islands and maybe some more details behind the mountains or on the mountains themselves Red base's side, it has those huge forerunner towers as well as a big aS* mountain I still have to improve the quality of those clouds, and i will remove some of the clouds that are inside of the red circle and add landscape under it Edited by ChBgt909 on Jul 16, 2013 at 11:28 AM

the sky is nice, but I think the shield world edge is too sharp. If you could make it look more curved, it might look nicer

I agree the metal looks bad. Without reading I thought it was just placeholder. Add curves too it and add terrain as well, like the interior of the shield world from Halo Wars. The sun could be in the middle.

They are images applied to a plane. It looks a bit crisp compared to the rest of the map. There is quite a difference in details between the pillars and bsp.

I might have it ready the next week, everything is pretty much complete, i just need to finish the sky model, add net game flags and run radiosity again
...i'm truly sorry for not having the map ready, it's just that, as you know, it's summer! lol
i've been traveling for few days and then go back to my city, go somewhere with friends or do stuff here and there.... but i'm also taking lessons of autoCAD to use it in my job, my dad has been taking me to his job in a company and i have been visitng oil facilities, even oil rigs!
so yeah, making it short... i've been busy so yeah. This map was supposed to be ready by the end of June or first week of July but, due to these thing i mentioned i couldn't
i'll do everything i can to have this map ready next week, i will make the announcement

Well guys, sorry to disappoint you but this map will no longer be on a shield world... i made a mistake when i made this sky model (mistake i didn't do when i did imposing's sky) and because of this the model i had as shield world was overlapping with the rest of the components of the sky so i had to remove it (i won't make this sky model from scratch again just to fix this sorry)
so this is how it looks like without the shield world model, notice that i added a couple of planets, changed color of the clouds on the bottom added a texture to the ground on the bottom and added some clouds scattered up in the sky I still have to add more stuff in the background to make it look better and i will add an island on the sea part of the skyEdited by ChBgt909 on Aug 17, 2013 at 03:45 PM

with no overhanging clouds I think the lower clouds should be whiter, and with nothing beyond the pillars it looks as though the map's floating/there's a giant blue wall.

Sounds like render order is messed up. Did you number the different objects in your sky model like so?  I remember seeing in some tutorial that the numbering of the objects is what controls render order. Maybe you don't have to restart from scratch?

well guys i tried to set up the regions for the sky as i saw in some tutorial from some thread (i also tried what "stunt_man" said in the post above this one) and nothing seems to work, i still get some messed up shaders putting themselves in front of another
please, if someone knows how to use regions for skies please show me a proper tutorial on how to do it, i tried reading the "custom sky tutorial" and it doesn't even mention regions!
I don't know what did i do in Imposing's sky... i didn't have this problem with that sky... and i didn't even know about regions... o.O
