Is there any way to set Aperature DOF focus with the already built-in commands?

like so?

good to see you guys did this for the game, what is the difference between this 3.0 version
and the version that was apparently leaked?

This version's official and has documentation. And it's probably got new shader systems since the leaked version. I have no idea what the leaked version is though so I'm not sure. Didn't even know it had been leaked. o.O

Playing through the campaign, I was experiencing quite a bit of lag. And the motion blur was too much.

1. How would I tweak the motion blur settings? All I saw was FOV, weapon placement, hud, and vehicle.

2. When trying the vehicle thing, I got a notice. Something about a scooter thing. :|

3. I have a Nvidia GeForce 210 graphics card. Is my graphics card too low for this?

My Documents\My Games\Halo CE\OpenSauce\OS_Settings.User

Open it with notepad.

Also, what are your other specs? I have a way older graphics card than you but I can run OS fine. Although I am locking it at 30fps because it looks better imo. But yeah, I have a 9500GT which is a few generations older than your 210. Unless of course the 210's a budget card.

http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_geforce_210_us.html <--- This one.

And with the motion blur

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<osYeloSettings engine="Halo1_CE">
<client>
<dx9>
<nVidiaActiveCamouflage basic="false" />
<GBuffer enabled="true" />
<PostProcessing>
<MotionBlur enabled="true" amount="1" />
<FXAA enabled="false" />
<Internal enabled="true" />
<External enabled="true" />

Since it's set as 1, would I need to change it to 0.5 or something? I just don't wanna screw anything up.

Unless you've got a pretty powerful computer, disable motion blur. It's quite laggy. Or just lock your fps at 30 fps, as long as your computer can handle even that. To lock your fps at 30, just go into the ingame video settings.

That graphics card a little bit higher spec than my'n though, so I don't know why you get lag. What are your other specs? As in RAM, CPU, Motherboard, etc.

Just use the Nvidia photoshop plugin to instantly create normal maps from a texture source. It's a good way if you want something done fast or you don't know how to create normals. I think easybump is also descent but I never tried it.

Yet again more powerful than my'n. How much RAM have you got?

E: Also, what's with motion blur anyway? I don't know about you but my eyesight stays clear as day when I spin my head around. o.O

2GB is insufficient for most new games, and even some older games. I suggest you get 4gb. You can get 4gb DDR3 RAM for just £14 on ebuyer, if your motherboard supports it. If your motherboard doesn't support DDR3, just search for RAM and you'll probably find 4gb RAM fairly cheap. Even such a cheap upgrade would really help with something like OS though. ;)

So, Is there anything one would need to do to get normal maps working on shader_models, aside from adding the normal map in the new block element?

IF so, I can't seem to get them to show up in OS_Sapien or in game.

Maybe I am missing something?

She, Haha..

Anyways, I just took a closer look and realized something I obviously mistook.

When you compile a map, you need to use the 'build-cache-file-ex' verbage

So, something like this:

'os_tool build-cache-file-ex "" false false false <Scenario file path Here>'

Sapien doesn't seem to display the normal maps. Maybe it is something like the lack of dynamic light and particle rendering on the stock program.

usually when i work with the motion blur, i use the following command

pp_motion_blur_amount *amount*

1 is default, 0.5 is half, 0 is off (but you can use pp_motion_blur enabled 0 instead).
i set it to 0.7 since that seems to be a bit more realistic

Also, F7 is the button that lets you activate the menu.

Likewise, bloom usually seems to be an issue, but i dont really understand how to work it. if you really want to see all the post-processing commands, open up halo, open console, type in pp and then press tab, it'll give a list of console commands you can use/modify. Its best to mess around a bit with these commands as it helped me find my ideal setup.

With the exception that i have to reset it every time i start halo, along with the positions i placed all the stock weapons into, but its a meh tradeoff, i dont mind

Motion blur can also be edited via console. As someone said, you can acess all post process settings via pp_ tab in console. Sapien does not show graphical enhancements.

I tone it down, but still I get lots of lag. I put it as 0.1, but still huge spikes of lag. 60hz refresh rate, and I can't seem to bring it down to 30.

You should ask korn about that install problem. As for the commands not working, are they showing up? Are you sure OS is loading?

To see if it's loaded, you do pp_ and then tab. To the person who said the commands don't show up in game, is your CE updated to 1.09?
