I don't have a d3d9.dll in my game directory (program files (x86)\the usual\). Is that why?

If so, how do I compile a d3d9.dll?

Do you guys have a d3d9.dll in your folder also containing the haloce.exe?

Well I do. When installing OS it should've appeared there.

Have you checked your regular Program Files? Not the x86 one.

Nada came up. So I don't know what went wrong. I've reinstalled once and I've done a repair install once...

I'd say because it installed incorrectly and one of the files was corrupted is why it's exceptioning.

What i don't get is i thought my computer would just crash halo with OS, Instead it does nothing, i don't get it, it's like it's not even installed...

Again, same here. But, check installed programs. Is Halo CE or PC there? (Strange that my Halo PC and CE don't show up in Program & Features [i have windows 7 64x]).

Yes, mine says Halo:CE is an installed program, and so is OS.

Are you sure Xfire is fully closed? did you check task manager?

VISR requires some additional scripting CMT will release, you also need to set up the tags for it as well. Check the documentation.

I answered that already. It's a combination of scripts and tags. post process tags, you'd know that if you read the documentation.

Alright, actually, before doing the Teamviewer thing, could someone upload their d3d9.dll somewhere?

d3d9.dll is a direct x file, you do have direct x installed right?

edit: if you do then it should be in system32 folder, thats if you installed the direct x9.

Guys, Just read the information Korn released, and navagate the code google page.

I've been using OS for a month now, and I learned quickly using the website.

For visual effects:
You need to have a certian graphics card for them to work. In the scenario tag, theres a "Project yelo globals" which is all the addons. You have to add the post processing tags in those globals. By default, it'll load with the post processing ON, so you will notice slight brightness & motion blur. To get the extended feautures, you have to compile a map with the yelo globals using os tool.

A little reading can take you a long way. Hope what I said above helps (somewhat.)

For the people exceptioning: Keep re-booting CE over & over. It'll eventually work. If it dosnt, then I have no idea whats happening. (Try closing xfire & booting CE for 10-15 minutes)

Its the only in-game hotkey.

The rest of the settings are in xml documents, check the post at the top for the info on where they are.

Anyone got any post processing effects in the making for the new OS?

The effect I want most is saturation increases.

If nobody else can be bothered to do it, I guess I could try to learn the postprocessing system. I've never even dared to look at the system on enbseries though so it'd probably take me ages to learn. -.-

Where is the "project yelo globals" tag located? Because it's not in my globals folder...

EDIT: i have a question, my version is 01.00.09.0620. is that abnormal or is that the same as it should be? i only ask because i hear people talking about how it'll only work for V1.09 and mine has an extension farther then that

Okay, let me ask this. Is this made so that you have to compile it into your maps or does it work for already existing maps in Halo:CE? Because when i open halo and type PP_ tab into the command bar, nothing happens, and F7 does nothing. The CheApe dll's and others are all in my directory. But still no open sauce visual effects.

Masterz, Xfire's probably just changed your opinion. There's a rewritten input system at last.

I'm gonna test it now. I'll tell you if it works. If it works, Xfire is awesome! And to think I was just about to uninstall Xfire. Xfire has some brilliant timing for news.

E: xD I have to uninstall xfire to run the beta anyway. -.-

E2: OS is still blocking xfire because it's got that script running to show a message. Any chance of an update to remove it so that we can at least give xfire a chance now?

How do you enable visor? :P

scenario > yellow filez > tag collection > shader post process globals > post process

PP files are located in postprocess (either tags, or data, depending on weather you want source or tag) rest you make yourself new tags for.

You can try the external PP files with the FX if you want, but I've never got that part working correctly (see the google code page for documentation on how to do that)

Its mostly just math (I was going to learn advance things, but then I got bored and just went math crazy lol) I have something on my (dying) desktop PC that will make reds stronger and such, if my PC is still in good enough shape tonight I could send it to you.

Is d3d9 in your folder? Also, I've found Linux doesn't run OS (im assuming wine hooks into directx games through d3d9 files or something)

OS commands/options will be avalible in any map (ie, you play a map that has shader_enviroment with normal/bump maps on bipeds and stuff, they will show up with OS regardless of them not being made with OS) etc.

Also, for visual upgrades you need the new items in the shaders folder (not in tags, in your HCE folder)

I believe I can place 256 trigger volumes (I posted it a few months ago, search my posts for confirmation/exact count)

My boosting was always done with scripts, last I saw there wasnt a function (although I wasn't keeping up to date with betas because of school, and my desktop is failing (GPU died yesterday, rest is doing poorly)) Multiteam vehicles where referanced either in yellow or yellow globals (never paid attention to the difference between them lol) But it should be on by default (the options in the yellow file are for disabling it)

OS_guerilla, FIle > New > <tag type>

You shouldn't have any by default (unless that changed between 2.5 and 3.0)

You link them to the top of the scenario tag.

If my laptop can handle stuff (as PC is dead/dying), I may do a quick forge demo tonight; If someone would prefer a different demo map, go ahead and tell me *shrug*

Anyone who wants assistance, talk to me online (even though ill be at college 90% of the day, I should be able to at least answer questions; only one of the classes requires me to focus, and one would be polite too (since a persons doing a presentation))

No. and when i search d3d9 in the start bar i get no results. I'm running win7, if that helps. and now i need to find a d3d9 download...

E:okay so i located d3d9.dll and put it into my directory. I open halo, i hit ~, i type in pp_, and hit tab, and still nothing. F7 doesn't do anything either. what have i done wrong?

are you using the d3d9 that came with OS?.. because that IS the portion that puts OS in HCE. Without that, there is no OS. Anyways, open the installer in 7zip (I believe the names are fairly scrambled, but you should be able to tell which one it is still. its like ~300KB-ish) As long as your registry states your HCE is 1.09, it would include it (to the directory listed in that registry value)

Edit: k, don't see the dll in plain site in the installer files anymore..

So, explain how this works.
Is it a .dll file INJECTED into the game ITSELF? So for example, you can board vehicles in stock maps?

Or does it only work with particular maps?

As far as I know,
Post processing is run through a .dll file

Vehicle boarding and other gameplay changes are run through OSHEK and so can't be used on stock maps.

Kornman can probably explain it a lot better than me though.

E: Btw, one of the OS developers needs to upload this to Halomaps. ;)
