Back on topic, does OS allow it so in SP, when you look at a fellow marine, a text will appear that says their name and rank, like in COD? Maybe this can be done without OS?

Is there a reason no one is responding to me? i don't mean to pester people but i really want to get OS working, and i can't figure out what i'm doing wrong. Please?



Version is 01.00.09.0620

Xfire is completely turned off

I have uninstalled and reinstalled OS, three times, and made sure that all of the apps were set to install completely, in the installer.

Questions:

Should i reinstall Halo:CE?

Could my problem be my video card?

After you installed, is there no d3d9.dll in your Halo CE directory?
And what bit computer are you running again?

There is a d3d9.dll and d3d9.pdb. And it's a 32-bit, windows 7, Operating system.

This makes me wish I was still actively modding this game, but I'm happy just to play what all the experienced modders here come up with. Great job on this release, Kornman. It's looking like this will revive the community and extend the life of this game beyond what could have been expected.

That looks good. Now mess with the specular so it looks like e3 2006. I know for sure that it's not impossible to get something that looks similar ;)

The original HEK allows you to have a compass like the Reach HUD... Its just that it uses flat bitmaps instead of curved bitmaps. In other words, when transitioning between bitmaps, it'd look broken.

Just thought I would post since everyone is going crazy in this thread about bump maps // Normal maps.


It seems you guys (Opensuace Devs) did a really good job I'll give you that,it's a step in the right direction,but!

I did notice using normal maps on dynamic objects has the depth correct but the X and Y normals dont seem to change at all.

Simply but for those who read this and dont understand,X,Y,Z coordinates are assigned X = red channel of the normal map,Y = the green channel of the normal map,and Z = the blue channel.

Now I did notice the blue channel the "Z" works great,but however the other channels seem to stay the same.

I was just wondering if you guys are aware of this,or plan on fixing or what?

If you need evidence of this,and just think Im blowing smoke please just drop a line.

Hmm, from a programming standpoint, OS as it is now, should be able to imitate that (a curving compass bitmap on your screen). write a post process, that has a variable to represent location to choose where to center the bitmap, and have it warp that bitmap, etc. Then use a script to update the center location variable in the PP dependent on which direction they are facing. I don't have enough experience with PP to make one to do that, but all HUD extensions in the future can be done by OS PP and controlled via script.
I guess people could technically write a texture camera PP too; have a certain color that is replaced by the image at the certain texture coordinates.


Anyways, im sure you people have seen my Forge thread. I seem to have like 1 hour of free time on thursdays, what feature you want made and a demo of next with what little free time I have? Can have a really nice set of armor abilities with the full system setup sometime soon (although I would have to rely on what information is available on the internet since I dont have reach lol) Think of features that would be a good advertisement to both HCE and Opensauce (since I don't have like any free time, so I want it to be worth it. the forge seems to be getting ignored at the moment.. kinda disappointed since I used an entire day on it instead of homework *sigh*)


Also, anyone still getting exceptions?
