because the layout of the map wouldn't work right. its also too large, hence why Bungie hasn't added Glacier into firefight matchmaking.

To really enjoy this, instead of camping on your base, go to the very center of the map (On the ground, dont use the tower unless you need to) and it's very challenging and fun from there. I love this map except for the AI bugs and Respawn weapons

It is a ZIP containing one map file called Skidrow's firefight. It is the first wave based map that I have made.

It is completely safe.

And kinda fun. Then HUD messages and icons are messed up and maybe some other stuff IDK it's old.

we didn't know it was going to be not very good, shadowslayer made it sound like the best possible firefight map yet, but it wasn't i still like mud_skirmish and b40 firefight the best nuffsaid

I have been given the task of fixing up solitude-firefight for re-release.

Things I have changed:
1. Fixed plasma grenade pickup sound
2. Added intro cutscene
3. Gotten rid of sound preload
4. Redid player spawn facing
5. Fixed spawn ammo counts.
6. Fixed all hud interfaces.
7. Made ai seek out the player.
8. Made the squads maneuver to each other.
9. Made them magically see the player and try to fight unit.
10. Made the ending (all lives lost) have a fade out to black.
11. Fixed weapon strings.
12. Moved lazer spawn somewhere else
13. Replaced old lazer spawn with shotgun
14. Added more weapons and ammo around the map.
15. Put ammo inside the guns laying around the map.
16. Added a health pack in the far cave tunnel.
17. Redid all firing positions.
18. Replaced some weapon tags with upated ones, for example, the assault rifle.
19. Moved some scenery and ammo, guns, etc, to refined positions.
20. Fixed shaders on enemies.

Here are some pics of those fixed shaders:




Things still to be done:
1. Fix manuevering jackal side to grunt side glitch in a certain area
2. Fix hud pickup icons
3. Make hud pickup icons smaller
4. Do final polishing.

Anyways, yeah.

damage effect on the h3 plasma pistol, blame sandy trap and jesse's "brilliant" force zoom binocular via damage effect idea as well as modders slappin the pp tags on grunts without caring whether or not the enemies will scream like morons because of that. I removed those binoculars a long time ago because I wasn't going to remove some of the enemies dialog to just to make them shut up so I chose to remove the damage effect and zoom instead.

Already fixed. I went and modified the grunt dialog tags.
Also, I don't think the way you hold a pistol in third person will ever be seen.
One thing I don't get is the elite animations. Is it even possible to fix those?

Replace them with retail elite animations.

Don't come up with insane stuff (IE Grunts: "Add ghosts and wraiths and hunters and brutes!"), please keep it inside Shadowslayer's designed purposes.

Good work so far, Mooseguy. Perhaps you could fix up my ff, eh?
Anyway, yeah, the jackal shields need the indents. But I like the mask noise and detail so far, so try not to mess up the UVW on it when the model is fixed. Just a tip.
Removing the scope damage = meh. Considering I personally scope the visor a lot, and that the grunts damage themselves with it... it's an ok solution.

I am giving the map back to shadowslayer for final fixing. I am done, tired, and, well, done.
Things to still get fixed before re-release:
1. HUD pickup Icons.
2. Jackal "getting stuck" glitch in central structure.
3. AI camping in your base (apparently he want to keep this).
4. Music cutting out upon certain sounds (Unfixable, I think).

Anyways, I'm tired, and I'm going to bed. Peace.
