Yeah if you kill one of the phantoms using omnipotent then you can't finish that wave.

This is just Halo 3 weapons/whatever else he got his hands on, and a script that makes two dropships come from the same spot each time and drop off guys at the same spot each time, wherein they then just sit there and do nothing.

Oh yeah... why dont ya make one to demostrate us all how firefight maps should be, im sure you can ^-^

Cheats are one of the main reasons things break.

I got the chance to play it and it was more like a BETA then a release.

Tips:

Fix pickup icons and HUD messages

Use firing positions so that the AI don't just sit around where they are dropped off.

Fix the three weapon glitch.

Release tags xD

lol he can do easily do all of those except release the tags, mainly because they aren't his and half of them have been released already.

I have an unprotected version of the map, and I looked. The map is blanketed with firing positions.

the ai must be set to something other than guarding at guard position then.

i'm pretty sure it makes the ai go after you if you're in their firing position area.

They will actively engage any hostiles who enter their field of view. AI magically see encounters works lovely with this.

Played it.

Quite frankly, I thought it wasn't that great. Not sure why people think that it is. It was essentially 2 drop ships coming in and dropping off guys every round. That gets very boring, very fast. The use of solitude was also a bad idea. Its not fit at all for a firefight map. You should of just planned out and modeled your own bsp. I assure you if you had done that the map would of already been 10x better. This way you can come up with better encounters, fit in your own ideas, and more interesting concepts. There are alot of things that could be done to modify firefights into your own way and make them alot more interesting then having the simple concept of a drop ship dropping off a encounter every round.

Thats not the point, the point is that the AI have no tactical value on the map. There just there to be there.

Actually, not really, It might just be me but on legendary(Yea, you still have to get their attention) they dont just sit around and wait to get killed. Just stay in the center of the map and it should work fine. As long as you take the first shot.

I haven't played ce in a year or two.. but I think I might re-install for this. This is the first time I've seen halo 3 armor and artstyle put into halo where it actually looks decent and fitting instead of flat, really low-res, and without much specular.

Of course some kind of purpose or small objectives thrown in would make it much more interesting, since halo ce cannot do more than one player in single player and it has trouble with syncing stuff while online with other players.

yeah boneyard firefight is for halo ce, and boneyard is easily the best map for firefight any day, its not great for ctf but its perfect for invasion and firefight type games.

Piggie does have a point.


True boneyard i large enough to incorporate all the factors of a true firefight like vehicles and hunters (some thing that shadow slayer forgot or should have add), but the fact to the matter is that boneyard is just to large.

Bungie designed it specifly for invasion and other big team battle types if you firmly desire to make a fire fight, i belive that map is just too large for 1 player and therfore i heavly suggest adding ai allies and the ablity to call in reinforcements.

Yeah I noticed the elites slide across the ground when evading grenades.
It's actually also pretty hilarious to have an elite go beserk and slide toward you while you try to kill it.
