Actually i knew that. I was planning on adding another decal that would sorta blur out the footprints so it doesn't look too bad.

Make it a rough oval in the sand , that way , no one can complain it faces the wrong way.

I got decals to show up, but the footprints always face one direction (to the bsp) and not toward where the biped is facing. I might make it an all-around even decal instead.

yeah. In halo 3 the sand actually appears to almost move with gravity too. But I think as far as what is trying to be accomplished here, I have to agree with phoenix. more like indents and not quite as dark too maybe

in the outer map portal regions make a sand fog.. then make a weather particle of flyng sand but if u make portals like this
above where u want it gust --------- lspace!l ----------
