The original reason why I didn't like this was becuase you were keeping the models from everyone else. Personally, I don't want them at all, but I know alot of people that would.

Apparently war never changes on these forums. It's always "RIPPING IS BAD" and "NO RIPPING IS GOOD" etc etc

Why is it people can be so thick? Let me tell both sides how it is.

For the non-rippers, have you ANY idea whatsoever how hard it can be to rip an asset from another video game? You have to know reverse engineering, which might take quite a bit to fully grasp, then you have to understand the model/bitmap format, which might take longer if no resource is available/made public. THEN, you have to make your own extractor, if there are none available/made public. It takes TONS and TONS of effort and work to fully understand how a video game works, and to extract something from it is the fruit of your labor.

For the rippers, you must realize that ripping something does not make it your own. It is not your creation, you extracted it from another game. What these people are complaining about is because for them they take their time creating something from their ideas. While you just take the "easy" way out in their eyes.

Both sides have legitimate reasons, but I for one am quite sick of all this ranting/flaming going around in this god forsaken community (The HCE community, ALL of it as a whole)

That is all I am going to say. If this discussion EVER comes back, you will see this post once again.

I could care less if people rip or not, however credit is needed, and if you don't give it, you shouldn't be able to use those tags/models/bitmaps/etc.
Ripping IS the easy way out, however ripping is hard, from your point of view at least. But for like Halo 2, many extractors have been built, and its pretty easy to rip pretty much anything from it.

For a example on how to mess up : Halo:Aero or w/e it was. Beach party was calling everything theirs, and they weren't ripping, when they really were. look were it got them.

Advancebo, the person who coded the app was sick of the Halo 3 Modding community which is also full of asses like this one, so he gave me the app and said I could do whatever I want with it.

I'm stopping everything with halo ce, it's surrounded with real immature kids. If you don't want to have a life, at least drop some balls, and play a different game.
