This is Fracture. Fracture, a large canyon wide, Valhalla style map. This map is trying to bring large vehicle battles, while still having that touch of close 1vs1 combat. Recommended players: 12 - 16 (lol, its big) Side Notes:Fracture, was technically started by Sheer. He showed me it, and then, we started working on it together. Then Disaster came around and started helping. We made a team, TM. We also threw DEEhunter, and Advancebo in to the mess as well. It's been about 7 months since it was started, 3 of it wasted by waiting for maniac to finish textureing, which we hope he will finish. In the mean time, we are releasing version 1 of Fracture. Version 2, will have many of the bugs fixed, and new weapons and other things in it. Bug's in v1
- Since I completely messed up my max file of fracture, it has no portals =] so some faces disappear
- Some of the terrain near the middle structure is a little screwed, shouldn't be too big of a problem though
- Covenant crates has weird collision (You can sit on top of it partially)
Recognition to people who helped: Killa_FTW - Let us use some awesome scenery! Wolf - Repopulated the entire map after one of the beta's being to lagy. Adumbass - Helped fix a bunch of errors to get it ingame CMT - let us use there CMT Tensity sky tags, and show us in the right direction's in a few things. All the beta testers - you beta'd the map, were thanking you for that :P GGL - making that trailer about 3 months ago TM is, Higuy Disaster Sheer Deelekgolo Advancebo Download links: Filefront:Taken Down Halomaps: http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=4629 Be patient for the download links, my internet is complete crap Don't cluter this topic up, please!! <3 TM Edited by Higuy on Jun 12, 2009 at 08:52 PM

I'm not sure if it's the lightmaps or the textures, but it's not a good thing when the cliff and ground are indistinguishable half the time.

I can tell them apart pretty easily. but thats just me. That was the most fun I've had in a long time. Yeah might be a bit laggy, but pretty fun. I don't know if it was because I helped make this map, or because it just was.
Tell me how it was guys. Edited by Higuy on Jun 5, 2009 at 08:43 PM

The level looks really nice. I especially like how you made the surrounding, inaccessible areas look nice, too, with the sky and all the trees. I'll make sure to download. I do have a few suggestions though, judging by the screenshots and your comments. 1) Always same multiple copies or iterations of a Max file. e.g. when you start the map, call it mapname_001.max, and every hour or so of work after that, save it as mapname_002, _003, etc. If you only use one file, you're bound for trouble. 2) Unless you're protecting each build you make, you could just use a bsp extracting tool (e.g. BSP Tag Converter) to recover the bsp mesh. 3) Even really basic portals would be nice. They'd also let you have different ambience and sound environments. 4) Colored lighting, and more lighting in general, would make the forerunner interiors look much nicer, as right now they just look monochromatic and relatively uninteresting. It would also help differentiate the bases more clearly. 5) Landing beacons are a simple but effective way of differentiating the "red side" of a level from the "blue side", and help guide the player through the level.
Other than that, it looks very impressive!
