I don't think it's actually Halo 2's textures. There is a difference. I would post pictures, but I don't want to turn into a "pic spammer", so I'll provide links instead.

Actually quite near. The pic what you just gave is probably not even an ingame pic, weird camera angle and stuff, looks like concept art.
It's ripped directly from halo 2, i dont know wtf you're talking about.
Ofourse it will look different, engine difference, duh.
Why do all the Mark VI armors look like crap? Because of that, you can't port the beautifull armor from halo 2 and keep it like that.

That WAS ingame, if you realize. And posting a random picture of a Spartan with a Marine that has an overly large neck doesn't help your point. Also, if the skin doesn't look much different than the original skin, so I suggest we use the original one, due to the fact that the original was "worthy" of being used by the Halo 1 Engine, while the Halo 2 texture was worthy of being used by the Halo 2 engine. Each to its own.

Actually it does help my point, as i'm trying to state a difference IN ENGINE here, as your pic is the ONLY flood carrier for halo 2 you could find, and the first one, as you could have chosen to use a realistic looking ingame one, but no you just used a weird angled pic wich could be concept art.

for sure, such a weird hallway isn't ingame.

And have fun with your default stuff, I'm going for the good newer stuff, no matter how minor it is, it's the detaills that make a whole, same goes for this campaign.

Quality above all.



Beta texture I'm working on, trying to blend the head part in and making the upper body part less intensive blue. This is still a very early BETA of the skin.

The hallway was in Quarantine Zone. Have you noticed that much of the concept art was in a sketch phase, and usually abandoned before making it ingame?

And @ your flood elite skin, it looks pretty good, except for 2 things. One, it looks like the armor blends right into the skin (look at the neck place). That doesn't make it look like armor. And two, I'm not sure elites wear such thin armor that allow you to see through it. Look at the chest.

PS: What's with the black spots again?

the neck isnt the same color as the rest of body and looks alittle wierd doesn't it? right now the only reason it looks like it has detail is because of the black which is not that good looking but other then that its good.

I already mentioned the neck, read before posting.
What IS good if you just said everything is bad? looks like an attempt to seem positive while just saying everything is ugly >.>
The black is a transparency problem, will be fixed, already is, but i have to work on some other aspects before i post another update.

I made one, but it looks a bit too... old, green slime hud looked like some duke nukem stuff, i need some new ideas...

In the meanwhile I'm working on my FEAR 2 HUD, since i played the demo it seemed a perfect hud for my ODST's =P



That was me playing, even on lowest settings it's ****scary at some points lol, alma randomness is going out of scale too
But anyways, I could use that for the flood too, but it wouldn't make much sense that mutating changes an electronic hud, if we want to fit a story we need to keep it standard, if we want to go the cool style but totally unlogical... then you have a choice.

I vote for my FEAR 2 hud ofcourse,

FEAR 2 HUD: 1

Regular HUD: 0

I think the flood hud should have a narrowed view, with purple or gray tint around it.

Somethin like this- Though I just did that in 5 minutes or so. Flood are infected, so they may not have perfect vision, right? So I thought maybe give them a tint of a single color.

good idea. (even though im not helping in this mod) but make it more greeny-brown like the flood.

yea, good idea! reminds me of FarCry 2 (woot i play every game =O ) when you get malaria, infected by w/e, it's a good idea =D middle should be clearer, yea that looks very nice =)

If you can't watch it, then don't... the pokemon episode in japan gave a dozen people seizures, they just shouldn't watch it if they can't bare it *coughwimpscough*

Anyways, I'll be using the purple image as overlay and try to get it ingame when I'm home.
I made several cubemaps in halo 2 maps by hand, compiled them after some troubles, and I realised the flood has no frigging visor... *facepalm
Well, something more to add to my collection

I'm gonna have to wait till Caboose draws me his concept for a Hud, and working on the flood textures are going to be routine too anyways, but I'm wondering if we can get our hands on the armored flood models? I mean, several people made them, atleast one of them must have released it? 'Cus I'm working on these textures, but if I can work on those textures then that would be a better time investment.

E1: if the flood has no visor, means they have no HUD, means... OMG DEADSPACE HUD.
Are we going DeadSpace style? I mean, you guys whine when the hud is too technical or not fitting the flood, but they don't even have a HUD =P

Been a while since I've been online, but its looking good, nice work BP.

After reading down the new posts I like the purple HUD idea, maybe make it green/yellow as is normal Flood colour.

Also, another thing. What do you guys think about having a Flood particle effect, similar to the one at the end of H2.

End of the H2 credits, theres those floaty flood particle things. Those, I'm currently working on them. Needs a new texture though.

You, are annoying, for posting that on every topic, in a matter of fact, i made it all myself, even the bloom, the hud and textures were made by me and caboose, and explosion is just my work, you think i can't do it with halo 2? what YOU are doing is exactly the same, ripping, so stfu and gtfo cus you're not helping and being annoying on all topics, you accusations spammer.

Back ontopic, and i don't need another comment from bo wich i will ignore from now on,
my WIP on the FEAR 2 HUD, I will be working on it even if it's not going to be in this mod,
but we can use it, if you guys want so, remember this is a wip for like max 2 days work, expect more later on.
