need for speed III was the $h!t
i played a hell of a lot of carbon and some of most wanted as well... also enjoyed the underground games somewhat.
pro street was fantastically fun to play. (still have my copy for both the wii and pc :P)
but nfs III was the best for sure. i was hoping the hot pursuit remake would be as good but i was sorely dissapointed... the series went to crap after criterion took over. now they are all burnout clones. i really liked burnout but the nfs series got rid of its party piece which is car customization. and that sucks

Decided to work on my modeling and unwrapping skills. Working on a redesign of the original warthog atm, only "complete" part is the tire and rim (low poly) pics: Open to anything right now. Critique, suggestions, etc. Edited by War Master V on Jul 6, 2015 at 02:28 PM

Tread doesn't quite look right, I thought the hog had herringbone treads. Doesn't look too terrible, apart from some funky smoothing. Here's something I've been working on: Different stick-out things serve different purposes. Getting the shapes all out in low poly before moving to a hi-poly model. Then back into a low for in-game or whatever I do with it.

I'm working on redesigning the warthog from the ground up. Completely new vehicle, but reminiscent of the classic one we know today. Edit: "smoothing errors" are the fault of the lighting setup. Now fixed, and I've since added a bit to the tread, latest pics: Also, that (presumably) MBT you're working on is sexy. I would love to see that in CE. Mounted MG's barrel is too high up IMO, try moving it to the more angled section just to the side of the main cannon. Also, the muzzle brake on it looks too large and oddly shaped.. Also, the muzzle brake on it looks too large and oddly shaped.. Missed the part that it's a new vehicle then. It's not actually an MBT in the strictest sense, it's a fairly modular design, and this is a heavier variant with track pods. There's a lot of details about that, I'll probably delve into them later. The coaxial machine gun, which I assume you are talking about, is about as low as it will fit. Something I did with this model, both for fun and to increase detail/realisticiness is to create internal components. The muzzle brake is just for reference right now. It's a 20mm autocannon which is why the barrel is large, and I'll probably put a port through the mantle, rather than integrating the coaxial. I'll see how that turns out either way. Honestly, as to the turrets design, I'm actually ecstatic about how it's shape turned out. It's based off both the 3in GMC M10 Wolverine and the M1 Abrams MBT. Suggestions as to how to shape the front armor of the hull are very welcome though.

I've started a little on the front (mostly been doing the back), and it'll probably be fairly close to the PL-01. Albeit with a 20mm autocannon sticking out.

Taaaanks!
Doesn't look half bad so far, although I'd get rid of that raised metal barrier in front of the commander's MG and just put a shield onto the gun itself. There's also not much need for a hull-mounted machine gun on a modern/post-modern tank; I can't think of any realworld examples that have one. If you're aiming for moar realism, you'd probbly be better off with a more conventional tread layout as opposed to quad bogeys, but quad bogeys could still be do-able.
Optics would be a good addition, as well. I believe the Abrams has at least three sets: a periscope and an infrared camera on the roof of the turret, and iirc there's an optic atop the barrel of the main cannon for the gunner.

Commanders shield was just kinda thrown to see how it looked. Basically just a shield to stopgap between a shield on the gun and the turret itself. Hull mounted gun, I don't know. I'll see how it goes honestly. As I mentioned previously, it's a somewhat modular design, this being a single variant (heavy assault) so different types have different track setups and all that. Optics are something I sorta forgot about actually. I'll put those on later. A suite on the roof, on the mantlet, and a couple driver cameras. Probably a periscope somewhere too. I couldn't really think of a more suiting design so I decided to go with a (modified) H4 Warthog hull. I removed all the unnecessary detailing and extra stuff, and was left with this beauty: Also, Skidrow you might consider redoing the part circled in red to match the line in black: Because that way it's more likely (by design) to deflect rounds that would penetrate or compromise the armor.

Looks pretty cool I must say.
Also, the little protrusion will be put to use for extra armor plating, or as part of the design of a front piece not unlike what I've added. http://p3d.in/fI9ed Other changes include low power lights on the bogeys, a high powered flood on the hull, a flood on the turret, optics on the side of the turret and on the mantlet, and something like ERA on the front. Also, the bogeys got a sexy makeover.
Addendum: http://p3d.in/sfXtW - Version with a giant dozer blade on the front, Schurzen on the front bogey (that's actually getting detailed), CROWS, and added turret armor.

Hnnngh Halo Wars vehicles. I like that your Grizzly is based on the original concept art, but the main treads seem a little fat to me, and I'd have centered the main cannon and downscaled the coaxial autocannons. It's also good to see the Rhino, but the turret looks oversized compared to the in-game model seen in Halo Wars. I can't see any real issues with the Cougar or the Wolverine. I hope to see some (or all) of these in CE one day. Edited by Echo77 on Sep 21, 2015 at 06:33 PM
