If you make the entire turbine/structure longer and taller, and the base thicker toward the bottom, I think that might help it look larger and more industrial (regardless of whether you want to put that other anchor model in or not).
As impractical as it is, I think it looks pretty cool too :3

Haha I'd second that too, such a funky design hehe

EDIT: Yeah sam indeed it does look very cool, I just have a habit of viewing things from a practical standpoint (glares at h4 weapon design) - even though it's 500 years into the future I'm pretty sure up till the events of Halo 4 the UNSC had some form of Keep It Simple Stupid, don't want to make it have too many bells and whistles even with advances in technology and materials.

Really I imagined it as being extremely high end, like in some rich guy's backyard or in some utopia society where form more than function is the desire.

Here are a few more beauty shots that was reworked.



And a quick vid of it turning, I really should have let it render more passes for each shot on the video and it was intended to be 60 fps but for some reason it didn't render that way. Oh well.

Yeah with what you imagined the design to be you really did nail it in the head - it does look very flashy, rather than functional. It's just that I look at pretty much anything from a functional viewpoint heh.

I don't remember posting these tags on halomaps before, but this thread needs a little update.

Stuff I've worked on in the past, but are being used for projects of mine:

Battleship Class Vessel:


Frigate Class Vessel:


Cruiser Class Vessel:


Prowler Stealth Class Vessel:


Programmed the battleship to circle around an environment, while I attached a vehicle turret to the top of it to act like air support:





And I have a working Halo Reach pelican, scorpion and Mass Driver cannon ingame. (Thank you kirby & MattDratt for helping me SIGNIFICANTLY to get these to work!!!)

Now, i'm not an expert at shaders, porting models (the vessels are NOT ported, I modeled those from scratch F.Y.I.) or modeling, so if you see something that concerns you or you think you can fix, leave a positive note and pointers of where to improve the tags you see ;)

The ships fit the UNSC aesthetic pretty well. If you want to add more little details to them, you could add banks of Archer missiles or escape pod bays (six of which can be seen along the side of the Autumn in this picture).

The ports look good enough to me. Would be cool to play with the mass driver.

Is the Covenant destroyer based off an existing Concept? I think the shape is really interesting and has a lot of promise if you scaled it down into a more Scarab-sized craft. It might not even need to be a flyer, you could make it some kind of Covie tank and the flat top carries troops like the Scorpion treads.

Hope that design gets used for something, it's rare we see good Covie stuff around here and even rarer that it gets finished.

They where not going to be drove. Only as scenery and project is not going to be released or worked on. SMT was a troll team meant to spam the forum with projects that will never be released.

I tried to do something new with old things. Need alot of work with the green part. But for now, I am very happy with the result.

maybe i will see that next week, i would do other covie vehicle in blue like ghost, seraph, turret, wraith but i havent this on my tagset.
Blue is cool for covie texture:

i did that years ago on an arteen map converted for halo full.
Will work on my stargate bsp today.

It is a little list, of what must be do:

-Fixed all the lights around the ghost (dynamic, radius etc...) Done
-Add illumination texture. Done
-Add the ghost dash meter and ghost dash border. Done
-Custom Collision model. Done
-Add custom animation for the wings.
-Add Lods. Done
-Fix little reflection color in some shaders.
