I think the said no AAs. Just because it's the Reach engine doesn't mean there will be no AAs. Edited by XboxHavic on Jun 30, 2011 at 07:14 PM
I hardly understand what you said... What I got was "They said no AAs (Armor Abilities)." The rest is just foreign to me.
There will be armor abilities. You can see them using Sprint in the E3 video.

They will be in there, no point in getting rid of it, they can just do what is currently being done in Reach and just have a Classic Halo game type where you can play without the armor abilities. Some people like the Armor Abilities some don't, why compromise when you can have the option for both. Edited by CAptDumB on Jun 30, 2011 at 08:51 PM

The singleplayer campaign is in Halo's engine with a graphics update. It's all Reach Engine. If you notice a lot of the game play footage every thing used was made for Reach for example bipeds, vehicles, weapons all except the Master Chief biped (Which still eludes me why it was custom). The only thing special is that at a button press you can see what Halo use to look like, as in the Halo 1 graphics. Giving you that feeling of 10 years of progression. only multiplayer is reach engine. They even said the campaign its the original engine with a few modifications for co-op and a graphics layer running over it.
Yeah I was wrong, did some digging, found that it was the Original Game play and Physics engine with a graphical enhancement (Which I still believe would have to be some parts of the Reach Engine because of the time it would take to create a new graphics/rendering engine, and if they had actually put a lot of time into it, it may have actually been the $59.99 instead of the estimated $40 it is planned to be.)
Multiplayer is all completely Reach. So you will have Armor Abilities and blah blah blah. I think you guys can figure out what they mean by that.
Just the whole way CE:A is being made just seem really weird to me.
Anyways Back on topic.
Congrats on getting a server up.

Oi, you didnt fix that ODST biped you released, that was the ODST I released for somebody to fix, and its not fixed in the version you released, also, a lot of people are pissed that;
1) you released a biped that needed to be fixed to be released. 2) you released weapons that were NOT supposed to be released yet.
Your on thin ice here, be careful or you might slip and fall in the icy cold lake that is your death.

Okay, so he posted crap that wasn't suppose to be released... That's when you work to make it better, and release it again. This is the internet, what thin ice is there? I'm sure Trolls broke that ice long ago.

Either way, Halo on either Engine would look good, just will take a bit of work to make it play well. Keep up the work. Would love to see some work.
"use a hybrid: a combination of the original Halo code with our new graphics engine"
Found the quote.

Okay, then what Dennis' said doesn't make sense. Because Bungie already has the network code for the Reach Engine where Co-Op over Xbox Live is possible. Because that is all Halo CE:A is, just Halo Combat Evolved on the Reach Engine.
Also Halo PC is still a "Microsoft game" Since all rights to the Halo franchise belong to Microsoft. Edited by CAptDumB on Jun 28, 2011 at 04:40 AM

Wait what? Where did this information come from Dennis. Could you provide a link to this info? Or did you get it from some other source?
Edit: And we are talking the Current Halo PC game engine because if you meant to say something about Halo Anniversary then I will be sadden. Edited by CAptDumB on Jun 28, 2011 at 01:41 AM

Pfft. MRp strict? That just made me laugh pretty hard. Aloud.
Also when it comes to friendly MRp has the most approachable people I know.
EDIT: Also, I forgot, what does EoRP stand for? Edited by CAptDumB on Jun 21, 2011 at 05:45 AM
That is awesome. I really like how it looks, kinda wish it would have made it into EP1.
So I got through everything and I would give this a 5/10
Its... okay. Its kinda fun when I am not getting stunned by fire and I am not able to shoot. As well there are so many Beautification things that need to be done to it. The map is huge, but one texture for the entire map is stupid. I'm lazy is not an excuse to release a map that looks bad. It doesn't take that long to texture something. Seriously I would dedicate as much time into making sure things look nice.
Also I was getting sick and tired of constantly being ejected from a vehicle. Don't do that unless the path ahead can only be traversed on foot as in a vehicle cannot pass through it. Getting ejected by the game for no reason is dumb.
Finally stop using the warthogs with the treads. They look terrible and they have terrible collision models. I cannot stand looking at those things let along driving them
Lumoria was a good single player. Granted for some military formalities that I noticed that drove me nuts. But there is no contest, Lumoria beat this SP by a long shot in my books.
I played through Lumoria before I decided to play RPSP. Got 30 minutes in realized that all of it was really easy that got killed by a sword elite inside a warthog. It was the only thing that impressed me throughout that 30 minutes of game play.
My expectations were high so I ripped it what I feel was a new one through 30 minutes of me blowing off steam through dev mode in videos that I am uploading to xfire right now... That's right I said 30 minutes, quite unnecessary I must say but I had to stop playing the single player because I had spent so much time BSing in that same defend the base while the same wave comes at you with a 500 round sniper... I was bored. I will bring up the link if people want to flip through it. It is in three parts just for the sake of not having to sit there for 30 minutes.

I gotta say, FPS RP is not all that hard. Though it's going to sound weird and crazy but you have to use your imagination. I find Halo has one of the strongest built stories and timelines. I think RP is a perfect opportunity to get people to talk, discuss and play their stories (kinda the way D&D works) Halo's RP community may seem dead, but does't mean you cannot use Halo's plot line in any other games. Though you will lose originality in your RP...
You have to realize that Halo Reach is built with an entirely rebuilt engine. Resources are used differently. So people who try to make a weapon, like the Assault Rifle, will have a lot larger poly counts then any other weapon. Even things from Halo 3, so really it's just a matter of optimizing things properly so they don't overkill tag space.

Just some of my work, I made them links so they didn't crowd the page, I don't remember what resolution they were at, but some of them are pretty high up there.
Never got any of this stuff in game, ever, and lost about 90% of the models when my computer needed to be reformatted.

But fire burns
Fire > Plasma
Get the fire grenade ingame! Edited by KappaLocust on Jul 21, 2010 at 04:31 PM
Plasma is actually superheated gas, so I think it may be hotter then fire. And no I am not talking about plasma in the blood, talking about Plasma with elements.
Quote: --- Original message by: Nano *Drivable HEV's* not the ones OpsY Ripped.
Drivable? Yeah the ones in Sanctuary_Final are probably a good representation on how an ODST HEV Pod should work. You cannot drive it, you just basically fall. (Even though in lore and what not you can change directions, but that's beyond the point and limitations of the engine.)
It's a good idea from a marketing stand point, since it is Halo based, and well, we all can get an idea of the fan base for it, but idea/story wise, no, it shouldn't be done. We all would like to see what the Master Chief looks like, but the moment they show his face it almost seems pointless. They will ruin the masked hero.
