re-download the HEK setup. then reinstall HEK, you should get your tags folder :)

try re-downloading HEK+

did you try reinstalling HEK? also make sure its just not the file your trying to open, open
 C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\tags\levels\test\tutorial\tutorial.scenario

Fairly simple. Import your debug.wrl and it SHOULD mark the open edges. However, it screws up for me. So I would just recommend selecting everything and welding to a factor that won't screw over your map.

just to let you know that when you draw your height map in paint or photoshop,you can make it any shape you want but to practice you should be okay seeing its your first try.also notice how your cliffs have pointed edges...you will see that in yap yaps tutorial he shows how to move vertices to make hills etc...you can also move the vertices that make up your cliff.try to get used to smoothing the cliff edges out to make it look a bit better.

ok, im nearly done with the map, i smoothed out the cliffs like you said, and created some hills for a better geometry. cause who likes a flat map? :P

the only thing left is to add bases, i plan for red team base to be the pillar of Autumn hanger (like the one from extinction) and blue base to be the base from Valhalla on halo 3, or something similar to it. i just have no idea where to get these models. can someone send me a link? :P

ok im having a little trouble applying the textures. im using yip yaps tutorial which is VERY helpful. except he wasn't to clear about applying the texture. i would appreciate if i could get some help on this . in his tutorial he managed on applying the texture only on the main ground and cliffs, im having trouble doing this.

the walls wont actually appear there in game, it will be a part of the sky, if you look at those cliffs in the map... those will be the walls.
also can i get someone to make the senario file for me? tool is int cooperating for me

i imported a spartan.gbx i think its maybe 2 or 3 times the size of extinction :P

ok, so i was trying to builld the .scenrio of my map with tool, i entered this
 tool structure levels\bliss bliss 


and it said this
 Couldn't read map file '/.toolbeta.map
Building intermediate geometry...
Building Collision Geometry...
Building Collision Geometry...
Building Collision bsp...
Building Collision bsp...
verifying collision geometry...
###ERROR vertex #0 has a bad point
###ERROR failed to import collision geometry...


what went wrong??

i have the bliss.jms in the folder
data\levels\bliss\models\

well actually it says warning bitmap created over 1-bit alpha being compressed over bla bla bla, but i know how to fix that :)

i expected it to create a bitmap out o my .tif image, but instead, it simply said ..
