As was I. Doompigs version was cool but the appeal of newer tags was what drew me ff_airlock_hr_h3_spp or whatever it was called.

The enviroment textures sucked though.

while I do indeed like some elements of this map, over all it just feels rushed and incomplete. on legendary, the marines at the start stack on top of each other. the encounters don't work properly, it feels too large, any surviving allies don't follow the player after the beginning and the texturing is somewhat off. also, it lacks story, which is that vital part of any game that actually makes the player feel like they are doing something worth while.

Interestingly this map doesn't follow either of these but could use stuff from both styles. Add more variation in map geometry and encounters. Don't make huge open spaces with gameplay of +W for 15 minutes. Liked the setting tho, a bit eerie brown mountain area with snow. And the new enemies are pretty cool. And I totally agree what Altis said, single player levels are rare these days.

Well, just finished playing through the whole map

First of all I want to start by saying that it's a huge pluspoint using your own BSP and creating new flood types

But after that, this map wasn't that special

The map was WAY too big, it was not fun to walk distances as big as in this map

After a while, the battles started to feel the same

Scorpion didn't really help, sometimes I got out of my scorpion because it was easier on foot...

Shooting enemy types were too hard, you should really tone them down in difficulty



But at the end I had fun playing this map, and that is all what really counts, 6/10, I hope that the future of this campaign brings something bright

I'm pretty sure we'd be interested with more thought put into gameplay rather than gimmicks.


It's a main covenat-sentinel map,but the player will see new forms of flood in the laboratory and some little outbreaks.



this time i will make better use of the bsp and scenerys for the encounters.

I'm willing to bet those AAA companies spent a hell of a time longer thinking about gameplay on that one map than you did for your entire sub-standard campaign.

Not to mention that these companies are a business. I'm sure devs like Treyarch would love to make a *good* CoD, but it can't be had when Activision's vocabulary is made out of capital, microtransactions and money.

Played on legendary only. Enabled cheat_deathless_player often because nobody has time for bad game design, and I'd rather not camp 50 miles away taking potshots at enemies with the pistol.

The map is either way too big or doesn't make effective use of the space, or both. The new enemies look like they could be going somewhere, but they're too poorly constructed to be exciting to fight against. Flying whatchamacallits were the most annoying part of the game.

Overall I'm glad it exists, but if you put more thought and time into designing new enemies (and the playspaces we're fighting in) then the map would be more fun to play. The BSP looks like it was designed for vehicle gameplay, but we're on foot 80% of the time and our only vehicle is a slow moving tank with an inaccurate cannon. Add more checkpoints too, and actual objectives that way I know where I'm supposed to go/what I'm doing.

What this mod does have.

Glitchy Enemies? Yes

Slow and boring travel? Yes

Forced to get out of scorpion? Yes

Bad atmosphere? Yes

Good Mod? NOPE

Play Takedown, Play Lumoria, Play Covert Ops, Play SPV3, play Firefight (Even Firefight Airlock V2), but DO NOT play Planet Flood. I had more fun playing Michael Jacksons Moonwalker rather than this "custom campaign" which the gravemind himself vomitted over a dead horse.

Whatever whether its custom or not, Planet Flood A SUCKS. If you read my whole message, I said more than just if the map is custom or not. If you like this creation from Halonimator. The word "Fun" must not be in your vocabulary.
